I stumbled upon this thread looking for Heather too. I hope all is okay. Lifting her and Ron up in prayer.

Praying for Heather and Ron. Here is her updated blog

    http://houstonheather.blogspot.com
Galatians 2: 20 I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. 21 I do not set aside the grace of God; for if righteousness comes through the law, then Christ died in vain.”

    What a couple months.

Nearly broke my finger. No typing for weeks. I about gnawed off a limb.
    Bladder infection
    Sinus infection
    Christmas rush.
    Password issues.

Anyway, I'm alive, mood is OK considering. I have handed out a few Bibles after the one I did at Rankin and Ella. That was fun, a whole new area. One woman didn't believe I had had many takers until I told her how many I had done in 15 minutes "Because God Brings them!" All true.

Then the Halloween and over 100 handed out right there (Scripture booklets).

Then a couple here and there if someone was interested.

I have some home repair issues (just need to get things scheduled and waiting for something to come into the store), I need to work around the Handouts on my days off. It's pretty cold right now but that's never been an issue for me.

I am still doing lots of intercessory prayer for - everyone - and the recipients, every day.

" I have had an increasing burden to engage in some down and dirty, street evangelism." March 6, 2010

Isaiah 6:8 I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: “ Whom shall I send, And who will go for Us?”

Then I said, “Here am I! Send me.”

    Matthew 22:9 NIV
'So go to the street corners and invite to the banquet anyone you find.’

    I'm praying for you daily!

Next time, if I drop a case of water, I'm going to let it fall!

I never knew a finger could go sideways like that. It's a miracle I didn't break it.

Oh, I could tell you about that.

I lost grip on a package and instead of letting it fall, I lurched forward and felt
a ripping sensation across my lower back.

    It's been tricky ever since.

    We MISSED YOU!

I tend to go hermit when the illness is bad. Not a good thing.

Ron is generally happy to "come with", but prefers a "carrot" if at all possible.

    We love Burger King.

This morning I was watching the news, a brutal shooting, a horrible neighborhood (where Ron grew up, actually), an AWESOME median (they had a helicopter view of the intersection).

And a Burger King. I will be praying on this but I like it, a lot.

I prefer to go where the Word is really needed, like gang infested slums with shooters running amok.

Ron made the trip (it has to be done the day before) and I did up the Bibles:
    1 case Easy-reader version (NIRV)
    1 case children's (also NIRV)
    2/3 case Spanish
    30 ESV
    Various KJV (nice ones)

124 total. This is what a Facebook friend had to say about the area:
Really poor neighborhood, no big chain grocery stores, no where for young people to get jobs, I think of street people, gangs, drug deals, graffiti on the buildings,Hookers, felons, crime, jeans so low you see the underwear, expensive name brand sneakers, (how did they pay for them?) poverty written all over the neighborhood, need I say more?

Sounds like my kind of spot. I find it interesting that God has called me to work in poverty and gang-infested "Black" neighborhoods, but I have never found a more willing bunch of recipients. If this is half as exciting as Acres Homes (where I've been working the last 3 years, pretty much), it should be a blast.

This neighborhood is about 1/3 Spanish so I brought some of that, too. Generally the immigrant "Spanish" wants one in his/her language, but English Bibles for the kids. I find that interesting.

As always, I will be praying for you and them.
Who has ascended to heaven and come down?
Who has gathered the winds in His fists?
Who has wrapped up the waters in a garment?
Who has established all the ends of the earth?
What is His name, and what is His Son's name?
Surely you know! -- Prov 30:4
