He's always taken care of me, in spite of all my flaws.

I just hope I can, literally, share Him in a meaningful way.

We head out in about an hour. If anyone's reading this now prayers for good transportation and a good handout would be appreciated. I will probably see the gang members dealing drugs, too, but that's the least of my concerns.

All done! I handed out 54!

I had brought more, Spanish, because I HATE it when they ask if I have Spanish, and I do, but I left it at home. I'd rather bring an extra 40 or so then run short.

However, I was wiped out of everything English and about 5 English in, according to my husband, 23 minutes. They kept me running!

I had a LOT of people who saw Ron's sign (we were at a T intersection, and he waved his sign to the long arm of the T), pulled into the gas station, and laid on their horns until I ran over and distributed whatever they wanted. Including a schoolbus.

People go nuts for the Childrens' Bibles - everyone wants them for the kids. So, at each car, I was doing a couple of adults and a couple of kids, each. The kids in the backseat love it when I reach a Bible to them, as the parents smile and hold their Bibles.

I was glad I had brought the Spanish, because I had some takers, including some guys who worked for a painting contractor. There was a traffic problem that backed up traffic on the other side of the street and I did about 10 Bibles as a result. I know God did that.

I thought it was interesting, a pastor handed me his card and asked me to pray for him. His name is Michael.

The driver who took us to the spot in the ghetto is also a pastor, making some extra money. We had a very good talk on the way.

We had the wheelchair. Ron and I bought it from a tool company about 4 years ago. It's welded steel, heavy but good. As I pushed him home from the bus stop (we took the bus home, and it's about half a mile to the house), and turned the corner, it made a loud POP and the wheel started to wobble. I'm glad whatever happened happened right in front of the house. Ron's going to have a look at it but he thinks it is fine.

I intend to, if Mom wants, to do a small demonstration handout on Sunday after church, in the area near my house (she will feel comfortable there). I think that will be fun for all of us. So, please pray on that.

Oh, and I saw a couple of police cars. The first had tinted windows, but the second one (I waved at both) waved back and smiled, pointing me out to her partner. I thought that was cute.

As always, I had plenty of gapers and double-takers but I don't mind. I'll get them on the next handout.

    Thank you for praying!

Mom would like me to do a small Handout tomorrow while she's visiting. She loves to take photos, so I may have a few to post.

We're going to church first, then the Handout (I assume they will stay in the car) and then some lunch. Mom had some concerns about me working in the bad area so I assured her the spot I have picked, is not.

    Another day, another handout.

I did about 35, and a lot of Spanish (the ones I didn't move the other day), in about 10 minutes. They kept me running!

One lady did not want a Bible, but her passenger did. So, the driver "made" me put it in through the sun roof, apparently not wanting to touch it.

    Hebrews 4:12!

Mom and Dad watched from off to the side, behind some bushes. Mom told me one of my recipients was actually driving some kind of church van. She found that hysterical.

    Then we went to lunch!

Let me see if I can get this to post:
Mom made a photo collage. It opened for me so it should work for you. Maybe a mod can just put the photo up? Please with sugar on top?

Here's a link to the photos. My Mom loves photography and made a collage. Let's see if it works:

    The Word goes forth!

I can see why God had me hand all that out before the terror attack.

I plan to do another one pretty quick.

Did you know Christian bookstores sold out of Bibles after 9/11?

If you have ever considered handing out Bibles now's the time.

Mom loves to photo; so it was fun to actually show what I do. Ron was worried about pride, I told him "I look very much like an overwieght woman in a very loud orange outfit". Kind of hard to be prideful.

I'm just happy I am usable.

Heather, I was searching quotes and stumbled on this one. It immediately made me think of you and how you not only hand out Bibles even in dangerous areas, you also count challenges past and present as useful in the process of building God's kingdom. So hat's off to you and this one is dedicated to you:

-People who are obsessed with Jesus aren’t consumed with their personal safety and comfort above all else. Obsessed people care more about God’s kingdom coming to this earth than their own lives being shielded from pain or distress. F. CHAN

"Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." You nailed it.

I handed out about 30 Bibles since my cat died. I was glad I could use his death for good, I gave the emergency vet, and a muslim cab driver each a Bible that night.

I considered myself pretty "hardcore" evangelist, with a dying cat in one hand (carrier), and a bag with Bibles in the other. Romans 8:28. It's also been a good opportunity to say "Yes, he's not here, but I know where I'm going when I die. This is how you can be sure, too."

Bubba had made a point of rubbing up against my box of Bibles as I did them up on Monday, 2 days before his graduation. I have made it a point to hand out those Bibles - about 30, and one today.

Today was funny. I was looking in my bag. I had bought a candy bar for the driver. I pulled out a Bible and she went "OOOOh! Can I have it?"

What could I say, no? Even if it had been mine I'd have handed it over.

I only have a few of Bubba's Bibles left. Oh, I'll miss that cat.

I won't miss the live rats he liked to bring home.

We're doing a Bible Handout tomorrow during rush hour.

Please pray for good trips and eager recipients!

    Thanks!

Got up early (3 AM). Got my God Time, went to work, stocked, etc. Ran some errands.

I had asked God to please make it clear if I was doing a handout today, I wanted to be in His will.

We had a little drama last night , which happens a lot before a handout, so I wasn't super clear.

Anyway, I'm waiting to go home from Walmart. Ron starts talking to a guy on the bench and the man just started spouting all this conspiracy babble, with some Jesus thrown in. He kept raving it was "Yeshua" and not "Jesus".

I'm like, I get it Lord. That is out there using Your name. I need to be out there clearing it!

God can defend Himself, He's made that very clear to me, but I needed a little boost. Nothing gets my dander up like a false prophet.

So, I'm just waiting on the pickup to go do it. I have about 45 or so English and 50 or so Spanish. We'll see what moves and how fast.

I gave one of my drivers a New Testament and a snickers bar. "Jesus and chocolate" I said. She was delighted.

I broke my toe 2 days after a Bible Handout.
My house was robbed 6 days after a Bible Handout.
My cat died 10 days after my last Bible Handout.

I was a little about this one.

We seem to have the same driver for the same type of trip. The lady who takes us to work. The guy who takes Ron to the liquor store. The guy who picks us up from Sam's Club.

Today, we had "The guy who takes us to Bible Handouts". He has taken us to a couple. He liked my shirt. After dropping us, he watched for a little bit and then left.

Our ride was half an hour late. We were supposed to get there at 4. We ended up there at 4:35.

I didn't have a lot of Bibles, "only" about 50, plus my Spanish Gospels of John. They are very compact and pack easily, and if I run into a Spanish speaker I can at least give them that.

I had 4 whole Spanish Bibles, too. Boy, those were gone muy rapido. Within 3 minutes - poof!

I had some fun recipients. A very professional, aloof-looking Asian guy - but he signalled so I ran over there and gave him a Bible. He said thank you.

I never know who I'll encounter. I had some of my favorites "The SUV is full of people and everyone wants a Bible". I had people with reading age children, asking for one Bible, and I'd give them two, one for them, one for the child. I had some very lively young woman who all wanted Bibles.

I had a couple people who wanted to give me money. One had a Christian Fish on the back of her car. I asked them to pray for "everyone who got a Bible today" and they were happy to help.

One SUV rolled up the window, quickly, as I approached, treating me like some kind of toxic cloud. I thought it was funny. The Gospel should be infectious. If it isn't, I am failing as a Christian.

It is sad to see the people who say no to a Bible. Some of them already have one, they make a hand gesture or tell me so. Some are very apathetic and shake a head slowly. It reminds me of the demon "Apathy" in "This Present Darkness" Some glare at me while making a "get away" gesture. Some ignore me completely, so still and rigid, facing forward, I know they see me but they aren't ready yet. Some are so into the handheld they never even see me. Some laugh at me, but kindly, and then wave me away.

Most of the people who point, laugh, or both do take a Bible. Small price to pay.

I also had some people crossing the street. I was able to give each of them a Bible.

    Pretty soon, I was done!

    Yay!

I pushed Ron over to the gas station (he always uses his wheelchair). One of the recipients tracked me down and asked for another Bible, but I was O-U-T out. He was nice, but asked me if I was sure. I did dredge up a Josh McDowell testimony booklet and gave them that. He finally "let" us go.

I left Ron outside the gas station as I went in to get a snack and soda. While I was in there, a woman attempted to give him money! Of course he said no.

Then I took him to the fried chicken place. He's happily gobbling right now.

We had a great ride home.

Now, it's my favorite time: Time to pray for the recipients!

I've been busy. I've handed out some Bibles every day to my everyday people.

Ron's doing a lot of testimony.

I told a missionary, visiting our church, about World Missionary Press. He was really excited to hear about free Scripture booklets in the native language. http://www.wmpress.org/index.shtml That was completely awesome.

I also prayed on it and decided to do another handout in Acres Homes, considered a "bad" area. As you know, last year God showed me no where is safe, and I am safest in His will. Translated: I feel safer in Acres Homes, than an apartment complex not far from my home.

I also prayed on it and decided to put some Gospel Rap CD's in with some Bibles - it's the right demographic and these guys are very commited to sharing the gospel.

One group asked, begged the Facebook fans, to please burn CD's and hand them out. I asked another guy - who offers free downloads, if it was OK to use his music too. He was thrilled. Excellent.

So, during the handout I can ask if they'd like a CD. I can get the CD's pretty cheap at the Dollar store, they sell them in a 3 pack for $1. Now I need to figure out how to do it all.

I always figure if God puts it in my head He will help me figure it out.
