. Then you will get the composition box to add your comments to the quotes from the others. If you want to bring attention to part of another's quote, you can drag your mouse pointer over that area to highlight it and click the "B" for Bold in the composition-tools box, or click the "A" tool (next to the "Font" and "Size" tools) and make the desired part a different color, as I did above.

Hmm... Guess I don't have the hang of it yet

    Well, that's interesting.

Don't know how you got an extra quote box around the bottom quote.

Unless maybe you highlighted the bottom quote AND clicked the cartoon-bubble-type-quote tool as well? (not necessary to do both Reply With Quote AND the cartoon-bubble-type-quote tool)

However, you DID successfully quote more than one quote, so "Ta da" for you, too!

BTW, for those of you who don't feel they can do the multiple quote thing, there IS hope.

The first time I read someone's instructions on how to do multiple quotes, it sounded too hard. I can't remember if I just went back and re-read their instructions more carefully, or if I waited until someone else explained it differently, but I eventually learned how and then realized it was really very easy after all.

The following is for perspective and to give hope to all those facing this "daunting" task.

Remember back in the 80's or so when ATM cards first came out? When I got my first ATM card, I refused to use it for the first year or so because it seemed it was "too much like using a computer" (computers being another technological hurdle with which I was VERY non-conversant at the time)

Okay. So. Now. You think maybe if I could figure this out, YOU can figure it out, too?

Looks like I may be able to do this also, just testing .....

Looks like I should have knocked off Tiger Lily first (chortle) and that's why I ended up with a quote within a quote.

So I've gone from feeling like a bear with little brain to helpful to a couple of others in trying to get a handle on this (not sure about Clever Clogs Wally though)!!

    Thanks TL!!!

Next question--I like to use big letters--I can see them better. But when I try to add color to size 3 font, the color shows up but my print is small. Am I doing something wrong?

I see what you are doing and it is one that I have a tendency to do, too. Happily, it is a simple fix.

In MSWorks, if you highlight something to, let's say, bold it, it stays highlighted if you also want to underline it, italicize it, change the color or change the size.

However, in the RR composition boxes, if you want to do more than one thing to part of a post, you have to re-highlight it before each additional change, or else the formatting will just insert where the cursor is, but will be empty inbetween the formatting. I replaced your brackets with upper-case brackets so that the rest of the HTML formatting language* would show up. See how where I have colored part of your quote red, the formatting is empty inbetween? That's why the size change as well as the pink color you tried to use (COLOR="#EE82EE") didn't show up. So, just re-highlight your selected words each time you want to do an additional bit of formatting on them. Easy peezy, lemon squeezy.

*P.S. You probably already know this, but in HTML formatting language, the formatting inbetween the brackets starts with an element and then ends with an element preceded by a forwarded slash. That forward slash says where to stop the formatting. So using X to represent your desired formatting:

[X] = the start some kind of formatting
(your typing must be inserted here between the HTML formatting language)
[/X] = the ends some kind of formatting

But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." P.P.S. However, Joy, I learned this neat trick from somebody here on RR. It is very easy to make what you are viewing on your computer larger or smaller by simply holding down the "Ctrl" button and moving your mouse scroller button forward or backward. (But you might not want to do that on your desktop as it will probably rearrange all your shortcuts like it did to mine. It's easy to just click and drag them back where you want them, though.)

You can also do this by going to "Page" on the IE9 toolbar and just changing the "Zoom" percentage if you prefer. I normally keep mine about 125%, because it is easier to read.

Anyway, if you simply change your zoom percentage, you will probably find that you don't have to keep enlarging your font when you do your posts and you will be able to read everybody else's posts more easily, too.

Thank You so much. Please, never assume that I know anything about a computer!! As a matter of fact, assume that I know nothing!
