Same here. It seems as though cell phones are pretty much a necessity nowadays. And yes, they can be a nuisance, especially when the battery gets too low and you don't have anywhere to charge it up if you are away from home. Imperfect but forgiven
I've only had a cell phone for a few months. I've never wanted one but I coach a competitive soccer team and some parents put pressure on me to have one. I concluded that they were right, they deserved to have me readily accessible, especially when we're traveling. I got one for myself and the 4 kids. We're kind of just getting used to having them. I would rather not have one but I'll admit it does come in handy once in a while. They definitely aren't worth the service charge, but there's not much I can do about that.

I have a prepaid cell phone from Verizon only use it in case of emergency and for long distance I paid $100 to last a whole year. I still have a land phone so I don't have worry about charging> Note: I didn't vote either

My wife and I got tired of getting ripped off by the service provider. The bill was always full of "new" fees and surprise charges. None of that with our land line.
