I'm with you on the outside training. All three of my kids (boys and girls) were taught to pee outside long before they used the potty chair. However, we live in on a farm...so its a no brainer. Why waste the water when you can fertilize

Daughter took 1 day. Very easy and she was ready. She was just over 2.

Son #2 was a bear. Took forever on the poo thing. Finally got it but he was 3 1/2.
Even with my glasses I need help.

Many have good ideas here but I'm in the "don't rush it" camp. My daughter was training her daughter when she was around 2 but she had no interest. At the age of 3, still no interest. At the age of 3 1/2, STILL NO INTEREST! Our daughter tried everything!!!! Nothing worked. Finally, she just gave up. Her daughter was taking her sweet time and, at the age of 4, she noticed that other children her age were not wearing diapers. Off to the potty she went. It really puzzled our daughter because her little one was, by no means, slow ----- just very stubborn!!!

When my daughter was young, our pediatrician told me not to worry. She said that children observe and learn by observing such as walking and talking. Your little guy will get there. Keep the faith!

Please, at least find the book Toilet Training in Less Than A Day to at least read it and see what it says. It will really benefit you AND your son. You should be able to find it at the local library. Definitely at a local used book store.
