Doesn't leave much to watch these days, does it? Even children's programs have a way of sneaking in the subliminal pc, conformity of a kind (all the while stressing how "special" everyone is). Or else the dumbed-down saccharin sweetness makes my teeth and my brain hurt.

I just don't want all that in my brain, I get enough trash in my brain almost by osmosis it seems from it just being all around in the culture-it's hard to avoid! But I still give it the good old college try, LOL.

That doesn't leave much to watch, even on my usual standby, Turner Classic Movies. They've been letting their agenda slip lately.

I'd really just as soon not even have TV, if my husband didn't have to have his sports. And every once in a while a good program will come along, like "Amish:Out Of Order" on NatGeo channel.I disagree with a lot of the ex-Amish guy's premises, fears, and prejudices, but it's still an informative and interesting show. So is the one about the Hutterite Colony, though it turned out to be completely unexpected and a bit shocking (ie the language and the disrespect to elders).

I don't think it will be very long before I can gladly and with glee, pitch my TV (not literally, just cancel all the services except cable and use the plasma screen for watching Netflix, iTunes movies, etc). DH seems to be getting burned out on pro and college football-it's become thugball.
Their was an article in the news about the Hutterite Colony articles. They were really angry about them because they said that they were wrongly displayed before the nation about their way of life.

I may have read the same one, I did read an article saying that. I don't know what to think-I know the show can be edited to make things out of context, but they can't put the cursing into their mouths. I recall the article saying that the show doesn't put enough focus on the deep spirituality of the colony. But there does seem to be a spirit of...I don't know, snarkiness...amongst the youth and the adults. I've been reading articles on the internet to try to get a truer idea of the Hutterites in general and not just this specific colony. It's my understanding that many of them are much stricter, more towards the Amish side of the "Plain People", especially in Canada, where most of them are.

I meant to say about getting rid of my TV, I will keep the cable internet, not the cable TV, lol, that would rather defeat the purpose!

Some parts I like but the others really bother me.
I shut my eyes when they show characters half dressed, etc.
I despise the cussing on it and I wish they would cut aforementioned parts out.
But the action and storyline are intriguing and I like action type movies.
I haven't really felt much, if any conviction over this but I don't know what the lack of conviction means?
Yall are more mature Christian than me, can yall help me with this??
    Thanks, please pray.

Revelation 22:17a The Spirit and Bride are now saying, "Come!" The ones who hear are now saying, "Come!" The ones who thirst are now saying, "Come!" Come LORD Jesus !

I find that virtually all TV shows and movies on now have a 'hidden theme' which is evil and against God. It's not so much the specific crudity/nudity/violence, but the message that underlies the storyline. One of the things that supports my belief/faith is how amazingly consistent the anti-God evil propaganda is. A stunningly large number of modern movies have as an underlying theme, "Sometimes it's okay to murder people." (I'm not talking about self-defence, but outright murder.) You never used to see movies where the 'hero' was a hitman or killer; now it's common. Another common hidden message is "It's more important to follow your feelings than rules or morality." Another common theme is "It's impossible to have moral clarity about anything". Just ask yourself, what is this show or movie really saying? A lot of these zombie-type horror movies or shows have an underlying theme of 'you should despair!"--suggesting that we exist in a hellish universe in which God is absent, and the only power is evil.

Sometimes I give in and watch these things anyway, hoping for 'entertainment', but increasingly I find that afterwards I feel almost ill--disoriented and disturbed. That's what makes me think these movies and shows are not just bad but spiritually evil.

Can you get a PBS station? They have some good clean programing. ABC is the only channel I can pick up with my atenna and I refuse to wach the reality shows or the trash they have for programing. I watch the news on ABC, then I turn to PBS. I get three channels and enjoy them.

If you were satan and wanted to undermine a nation, how would you do it? You would indotrcate the young of that nation that those things were accepted as normal. When the next generation are adults, they will believe that homosexuality is the norm and nothing wrong with it. The past generation were taught Darwin's theory and will argue that there is no such thing as God and all life formed from a single cell.
