Yrs. ago, soon after I joined this board, I was able to meet one of the members that lived nearby. Her username was John3:16. Back in '08, Stacy was w/o a church to attend. I mentioned the one that I was going to, that they stood firmly on the Word of God. So she tagged along once. After that, we would go regularly-and things were good. Eventually, we became a couple, but that didn't last long. We did still attend church faithfully, just not as an item. In mid '09, I transferred work locations, and circumspectly, stopped attending church. I became involved with a co-worker, who told me I needed to tell Stacy. And boy, that ended well. So Stacy and I parted on bad terms.
A month or two ago, I took my daughter back to church, thinking what am I going to do? Well, Stacy wasn't there. The one parishioner did ask if I was her friend. I told her yes. Then when I took my children to service today, a different lady showed me the new bibles in the pews, complete with a dedication to Stacy. I did a double take on the name. It was her. The bad thing is is that the date was 2011. I felt as if all the air was sucked out of my lungs. I got to thinking she missed the rapture. I pretty sure I know what every saved person reading this is thinking. Well, I took the bible in my hands, flipped to 1 Thes. 4:16, and confirmed the passage to Satan's misguidance. "The dead in Christ WILL rise first." She didn't miss the rapture, she just has a different part in it. But to all those who have placed their assurance in Jesus, we will ALL have a sweet, sweet homecoming.
I found out she succumbed to leukemia. I did know she suffered before we parted ways, but she's not suffering anymore. She's enjoying herself with Jesus.
