Babies have been routinely vaccinated with DTP ( DPT?) for a very long time.
Pertussin is the part that covers whooping cough. So I don't understand
the epidemic. Vaccinations didn't do their job?

Good question. I remember getting a TDaP (tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis) shot a few years ago. It was amazing, I didn't even feel it. Looked over and the nurse was applying a bandage.

It seems more people get sick when they get the vaccine. They said the same thing here but my kids got the vaccine, and they got it anyway. So the school calls telling people to get the vaccine is not helping them to convince people to get vaccine. We trust government with the health of our kids rather than God I repent.

The vaccine does not last a lifetime. Many adults, who have not had a booster, are at risk of catching whooping cough and spreading it to their babies who have not yet had the vaccine. Generally speaking, whooping cough is not a threat for healthy adults. Many don't even know they have it. It is a serious threat to the elderly, those with asthma or babies. When we lived in Kansas, there was an epidemic and this is what we were told.

How interesting! I just rec'd a tweet from our local health unit here saying whooping cough or pertussis is spreading around our community here in SW Ontario, Canada also! This thread caught my eye because of just that. Thought I'd share it's sounding alarm bells at our health unit enough for them to put out a tweet.

Our doctor says she is seeing cases of it in people who were vaccinated and she's not seeing it in people who were not vaccinated.

I could give a very tin hat reply to this, but it would prolly get taken off. I believe,
according to research on the web and reports from people getting vaccines, that
the vaccines are causing illness and there are really nasty substances in them.
You can go to Natural News and search with the term' vaccines' and you will

I was given a vaccine for all that, against my will I must add, about 14 years ago, so I'm sure I'm OK.

    Besides, I don't have kids.

Iam, my sister got VERY sick after getting the "regular" flu shot a few years back. I wasn't getting flu shots anyway (I only get it every 10 years or so), but that really put the coffin nail in the idea.

here in Australia, babies are routinely given TA (Triple Antigen) which includes whooping cough. when booster shots were given, the whooping cough part was not given.

My eldest daughter git whooping cough when she was ten and all of my kids were immunised for anything and everything. At times there have been scare campaigns and the level of immunisation in the general community has dropped. Now we are been given booster shots if we work with children or if our state of health is not the best. (I suffer from low white blood cells and low red platelets - I drift in and out of the low point of what is regarded as normal) so my immune system is not the best.

Well I've got to share this one. My dear Mother told me I had had whooping cough as an infant (back in 1949). I was sooo sick, and could have died. But God blessed my family--I'm still heeeeeere! Seriouly, though, I think we may be seeing lots of long-lost diseases popping up again..... TB, measles, mumps, malaria .... small pox??? Too many anti-biotics being used and these diseases mutating???

This reminds me, Heather--About 7 years ago my DH got a "flu shot" at work and within an hour they were rushing him across the street to an emergency clinic thinking he was having a heart attack. He was very sick. Of course, it was a reaction to the shot and was just 3 days AFTER I had retired from my U job of 35 years, so we weren't insured yet (only a week away from my DH's insurance kicking in). That one cost us $1200!!!

I got one of those at work some 15 years ago because it was the newest fad and everyone was saying to get one. So I did. Month later, came down with the WORST flu I've ever had.

Since then, I refuse to take the flu shot. I've had variants of the flu since then, but not the kind that incapacitates you for over a week. Mainly 24-48 hour bugs.

Read any science journal or medical journal--it is right to be wary of what we put in our bodies, but vaccines are safe and far better than the alternative. Not an attack on you, it is just frustrating to see vacines knocked when that is a huge reason why humans live longer and are healthier today.

Using Natural News for medicine is not worth it, very warped, biased site. Think of it like a bad church, they claim to be truthful, and have some flowery language, but it is dangerous. Very much so.

On the other hand, the flu shot you can get a little sick from, so I am kind of squeamish on that.

Yes,much better than the alternative.I have been getting the flu shot for years and have not had the flu in years.I have had pneumonia three times and I have gotten the pneumonia vaccine and I have not had pneumonia in years either. You can not get the flu from taking the vaccine because they shot you with a dead virus. You can possibly have a reaction but however gives you the vaccination should screen you well so that does not happen.

My husband has been getting the flu vaccine for several years now because having the flu would place him in serious jeopardy. I began to notice that he was avooiding the flu year after year while I was catchng the flu year after year. He would be fine whereas I would have fever, chills, body aches and weakness. Sometimes, after having the flu, I would develop Bronchitis which prolonged my illness. I finally got tired of being so sick for a week or two every year and started getting the vaccine. Since then, my body has been an influenza-free zone.

I keep my vaccines up to date. The only time I or any of my kids ever got sick from any of these shots was back when they were using live viruses in the flu shots. For several years in a row, after the Air Force gave me my mandatory flu shot, I'd become deathly ill with flu(s). At the time their record keeping wasn't perfect, so I skipped the shot for a few years and got away with that... then they started using non-live virus flu shots, and I do fine with those. I've probably had the pertusis shot several times now.

You can still get the flu within 10 to 14 days after you get the flu shot. That is because the titers do not set in until then. You are not immune yet until those 10 to 14 days. The person who gives you a flu shot should tell you to be careful for those 10 to 14 days. The flu can be deadly to some.
