Thread: Judas and the antichrist accountable?

  1. #1

Post Judas and the antichrist accountable?

I have often wondered, if satan entered Judas to carry out his plan, how could he be held responsible? Same with the antichrist...if he is a person like you and I, and the devil enters his body, how can he be held accountable for satan's actions?

Free will. They, like b'jillions of others, made the choices they made that allowed them to be used as they were. Neither Judas nor the antichrist were/are victims of their circumstances.

The bible says that the antichrist is the son of perdition and will be cast into the lake of fire with the false prophet at Jesus second coming.

The same 'title' is applied to Judas (John 17:12)
The heavens are telling of the glory of God; And their expanse is declaring the work of His hands.
Day to day pours forth speech, And night to night reveals knowledge.

If Judas truly belonged to/believed in Jesus as Messiah and forgiver of
sins, satan could not have indwelt him? Yes? Like, when a believer has
the Holy Spirit, an unclean spirit cannot enter.

The Comforter had not yet come...the indwelling of the Holy Spirit came during pentecost and upon believers there after, not during Judas' time on earth

Yup, if Judas had truly had faith that Jesus was Who He said He was, Satan couldn't have indwelt him. People like pharaoh, Judas, etc... were already headed down a path that they've freely chosen. A believer is protected a bit differently in the church age, but yes, the theory still has the same conclusion; Judas would've been protected if he'd freely chosen faith.

Remember, the AC will not be indwelt by satan until half way through, so the person who ends up being the AC, made his choices on his own.
Psalm 30:11-12 (New King James Version)

    11 You have turned for me my mourning into dancing;
You have put off my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness,
12 To the end that my glory may sing praise to You and not be silent.
O LORD my God, I will give thanks to You forever.

    This.

Judas could have said 'No can do', but chose to go along with it. We each make choices and are each responsible for the choices we make.
