Default My friends ask "How long till God answers"

I have been witnessing to 2 friends of mine and they say that they keep asking to be saved but feel that they get nothing back. I had an amazing experience which I shared with them and they say that they want that. Yet it hasn't happened yet and I don't know what to say. What do I say? They want to know what action to take and I don't have an answer. Thank you.

Although some people may have an emotional experience when they decide to repent and turn to Jesus for salvation, the emotional experience is not what salvation is about. It's not a "feeling" and you can't "ask to be saved". God has already done the work, we just have to receive the free gift by believing in Jesus Christ.

"For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." (Romans 10:10, NKJV)

Have they repented of their sins and asked the Lord to forgive them and asked for Him to be their Lord and Saviour?

He says He will receive them. That is based on His Word, and complying with His requirements for salvation, not a feeling.

    That.

You may need to explain "repent" - it's not a popular topic these days.

Isaiah 6:8 I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: “ Whom shall I send, And who will go for Us?”

Then I said, “Here am I! Send me.”

I'm a bit confused... They are saved if the have placed their faith (which is trust) on Jesus as Lord and Saviour. If they confess Him and believe He was crucified and raised, they are saved. I would recommend they have long conversations with God, about Jesus, sin, and such. What exactly "hasn't happened" yet? There doesn't have to be any bright lights, speaking in tongues, etc...

Thanks to sweeetlilgurlie on Narniaweb for the sig

Ditto the posts that say we don't all have the same salvation experience, but we all receive the same salvation per the Word of God. It sounds to me like if your friends did have a big salvation experience feeling their faith would be in the feeling and not in the Savior.
Ph 3:15 (paraphrased):...And if on some point you and I think differently, that too God will make clear to us. Only let us live up to what we have already attained.
