Default "Avengers" -- anyone else seen it?

We went to see "Avengers" this past Saturday for our eldest's 20th b'day. Great movie! Action-packed, comic relief, family-friendly (unless you don't like a lot of violence, which is kind of a given in a superhero movie) and may I say that Thor and Captain America are both very easy on the eyes! If you do go see it, stay through the credits, because there is a scene that sets up the sequel, which I understand is already in the works. In the next couple of years (if we're still here), they plan on releasing a new Thor movie, a new Captain America movie, and a new Iron Man movie.

I don't want to spoil anything for anyone who hasn't seen it, but there is one scene between Hulk and Loki where the entire theatre clapped and cheered. There's also a funny scene between Hulk and Thor. If you see the movie, you'll know what I mean.

I went to see it with my Daughter and Mother Monday night. We all enjoyed it.

    Yep.

Yeah, loved that line! I cheered at that part, too.

And the scene with Hulk and Loki...everyone cheered too loudly so I had to go online the next day to find out what Hulk said.

As as far as family-friendliness, yeah, too much fighting for my little guy. He's almost two and spotted Hulk one of the (many) times that I watched the trailer. (He liked when I would name each of the characters in the money shot...Hulk, Iron Man, Hawkeye, Thor, Black Widow, Captain America...hah! still remember the order!) I kept *almost* thinking I should just go ahead and take him with me but remained firm that he was still just too young.

Then I get to the movie and the lady next to me has brought her two-year-old daughter with her!
(The worst part wasn't even The Avengers itself. The strongest fighting can be blocked and shielded in a later viewing if I give it the okay. The worst was that horrible trailer for Prometheus! For crying out loud...it gave ME the creeps!)
The penitent man kneels before God...and then rolls forward.

Ha ha ha, I LOVED that scene!

I also loved the "there is only one God" statement.

The movie was just great. I can't wait to buy it on DVD.

A friend of mine went to the midnight release and raved about the movie (he's a big Marvel fan). I enjoyed Captain America and I normally don't like the whole superhero theme in movies. A friend of mine wants to see Avengers too so I think I'll have to go see it with him. Did you guys see it in 2D or 3D?

    2D

IMO, the only movies worth seeing in 3D at the theater need to be originally filmed that way and not altered after the fact.

Avatar was amazing in 3D. The other 3 or 4 movies Ive seen in 3D werent worth the extra cost.

I saw it with my son, daughter, new DIL and 8 yr old granddaughter. I looked over at her eating her popcorn with her 3D glasses on and big smile on face. We all loved it. Yes the "only one God" statement by Captain America made the movie for me, that and Hulk's big attitude LOL. There are very few movies we can all go to and this one was really fun.

My son got advanced tickets to the pre-release screening and he
took the kids. They saw it in 3D and he said the 3D was really
awesome, everything seemed to be right in front of you for real.

I just saw this a few days ago (in 3D) and it was awesome! Truly a very well-done movie. I too loved Captain America's line.

I have seen the movie! And it's awesome! We saw the 3d version and thought they did a great job on the 3d! I agree the film needs to be filmed in 3d before the 3d effects can be fully appreciated!
