Default Do you sell online for extra cash?

In this poll, you can answer if you sell online, or thinking about
it or not interested. It is an alternate way to make some
extra cash but it's not for everyone.

We cleaned out my wifes jewlery cabinet recently and sold over $800.00 worth of old gold rings @ 87% of melt value and over $600 worth of old silver charms etc on EBAY. I have also sold a few rare CD's and 2 knifes for a nice windfall. Not hurting for money, just watching too much Pawn Stars and American Pickers on TV. We've actually made a pretty good profit on all of it.

Technically, yes. I am a self-published writer, so I sell my own book (soon to be books, plural) through Amazon.

However, I get the impression you are asking about those who sell through eBay, Etsy, and similar. No, I have not done that but have considered Etsy for my husband's photography.

I occasionally sell something on ebay, not so much for the cash, but with the thought of recycling rather than tossing the item(s) out. Mostly, though, I just throw stuff out.

    No.

I could "monetize" my blog but I am strongly opposed to that.

My husband and I tried a few years back, but we found it way too much work for the "extra cash" which in the end was not very much.

I have never sold anything online. I USED to think about, but what I would have had (at the time) to sell, would have cost a fortune in shipping charges, BUT I do have yard sales!

Indeed, I have my online books, but the shipping charges for some stuff would be enormous. Plus there's a big flea market I can give a friend to take stuff to (though for the 2nd straight year too much is going on in his family for him to be ble to dot he flea market, as it's a pretty big committment, you can't just sign up to have a table once).

A couple of years ago I sold my Hyundai on Craigs list. I was going to post an ad in the paper but decided to give Craig's list a try. My car sold within a couple of days, and I know I made more by selling it myself rather than trading it in.

Yes, we have sold some items on Craig'slist, and appreciate prayers now. We have some items on there now that we are trying to sell.

I will sometimes sell the boys clothes on ebay and turn around and buy them clothes with the profit.

I sold on Ebay for 9.5 years and was able to support my 2 kiddos and myself. It was not always easy as I had to work with a large amount of inventory and doing all the listing, photo taking and shipping myself. But it was great for the flexibility. I have recently slowed it way down and am looking for a regular job with health insurance. I will just do it on a parttime basis to make a little extra money.
