"Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God." Romans 5:1-2 NKJV
The word for "sun" in HEBREW is שמש/she-MESH!
My church just started Job. You can download the podcast each week and follow along with us. It's Calvary chapel in Houston. We are going through it verse by verse. They will probably be posting the first one sometime this week.

For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. 1 Cor 1:18
Thanks Jlutz.. I will be sure to listen! I am hoping my note taking skills will be up to par, I would like to be able to have something tangible to pass out and share with others.

You, O LORD, keep my lamp burning; my God turns my darkness into light. Ps. 18:28
I was getting ready to post, but JLutz and I go to the same fellowship.
The study has been AWESOME so far. God's Word is so good!
OOh, careful with the J. V. McGee commentary. He is really excellent on most things but he missed it slightly with Job. Job was not brought into the trial bcuz he needed to repent. It was only after he was deep in his misery that he sort of "turned on God" and started self justifying, and that is what he was rebuked for and repented for near the end of Job, repentance was not the intention of the trial. Remember, Job's trial began with Job's righteousness and satan asking to sift Job (try his faith). Jesus was tried by satan, as was David, Peter, Joseph, etc. The Bible does not tell us any of them were tried due to self righteousness or sin, but to try their faith. Those are very different things and should be clearly distinguished. For this trial to be about repentance God would have had to say Job is righteous and then impute future sin to Job that he had not even committed yet and may not have committed if the trial had not come. Since we are saved by grace thru faith, we know that God does not declare someone righteous if they have no faith, so obviously Job had faith and if we have faith (in Jesus of course) we are not held "guilty" for sins that don't even exist yet, or any other sin.
This is one of the most wonderful books of the Bible and I've studied it from many angles for many years. I'm sure you will enjoy all that you find. The Calvary Chapel suggestion is good because they usually do a good job with exegesis.
