    Default Awesome evening service tonight!

Tonight, our preacher was going to talk about Heaven and answer questions we e-mailed to him. Well, instead of that, let me tell you what DID happen . . .

It started at choir practice, which we have at 4:30 before church at 6:00. Choir practice is always just an extra praise-and-worship session for us pretty much, because we start with prayer and just can't help having fun enjoying what we're singing. The Spirit is always in our midst even when we're working on the nuts-and-bolts of a new song. Tonight we were reviewing some songs we've done before, so there was no new learning, just singing songs we knew and keeping in practice, which made the worship that much easier because we weren't trying to remember new words or notes, etc. By the time practice was over and church was to start, we had an audience and we were going strong.

Then, the preacher called everyone that could to come forward for prayer, as the sister of a member had died while we were in choir practice and some of the family was there. Then, the preacher felt led to have a time of testimony. During that time, we had an older man (like in his 60's) come forward for membership. He is attending the local halfway house just down the hill and had talked to the preacher about moving his letter to our church. No time like the present, so the preacher called him on up, which led to a family of 4 and another older man to come for membership as well.

By now, the Spirit was moving in a mighty way and more testimonies and words of praise were given. That's the way the whole service went. The preacher didn't even get to talk about Heaven or answer any questions, but someone remarked that what we had was even better -- a little glimpse of Heaven, with people sharing and praising God for His goodness, and the Spirit moving freely among us. The preacher said that he had planned to mention about Heaven being like a great big family reunion, and he agreed that this was just a tiny piece of what we'll experience there.

Service closed with a duo from the choir singing "That Name." Enjoy!

"Oir is leatsa an rioghachd, agus an cumhachd, agus a gloir, gu siorraidh, Amen." ("For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever, Amen" -- Scots Gaelic)
