    Apparently many English surnames (Carpenter, Miller) originated with the trades in which those so named were occupied. How many can you think of?

    Cooper- i believe that is a person who makes wooden barrels and buckets, etc.

    my maidenname was Ford... I guess that means crossing, but a friend told me it meant Fix Or Repair Daily and from the file at my doctors, I think he is right!

    My last name is Webster and according to my father in law they were the king's sewers and weavers. I haven't done much research on it though

    Id stick with 'weavers'. 'Sewers' sends the wrong message.
