Welcome to the board from a fellow Aussie. I have been rather involved with my family at the moment, but I am finally saying welcome from where it is beautiful one day and perfect the next (when the sun is shining) Queensland.

We are all learning a lot around here.

I love Queensland.
Especially Sunshine Coast.
I am thinking it must be time for a holiday. Melbourne is soooooooo cold at the moment.

Unlike Melbourne, N. Alabama, Huntsville is hot! And it is going to get hotter. The Space and Rocket Center is here and tons of restuarants. There is one mountain in the entire region--Monte Sano national park.

Rockets and Space centre. That sounds pretty cool, even if it if hot in N Alabama.
I will have to google maps the area and see what I can see.
Melbourne is a typical city. Out side right now it is 9 deg C at 9.25 pm. Not to bad .

Where do you fellowship?
I go to a Calvary Chapel. Love the teaching. It is one of the few churches that actually teach about the rapture in The region of Melbourne where I live.
Melbourne has lots of restaurants covering pretty much all cultures. We even have the big M. I don't think there is a place on earth where McDonalds hasn't infiltrated.

My culinary experience down under:
Tim Tams are fair dinkum!
You can keep the slice of beet and fried egg on hamburgers...but we did try it.
I actually enjoy Vegemite on toast...but only about once a year, lol.

Hi $teve. I have a few friends in Canberra. The wife and I recently stopped over on our way back from a conference in Sydney.
We stayed at the Quest Inn over the weekend. Couldn't get over how quiet it was.
We did enjoy the city and all the sites, especially the mint....awesome. With a name like $teve I imagine it is one of your favorite places
