You just captured precisely my thoughts this morning.

On another note, here's Russia the most vocal opponent to any western intervention while they themselves are loading the regime to the teeth, and in fact, intervening themselves. The anti-government armies are not just fighting against Assad's regime but against Russia too imo. I'm not supporting the opposition in any way but only to point out that Russia is hypocritical to the core.

World war is back on the menu in just 67+ years from the last one. This one has greater importance though...

If by WWIII you'all mean {Is 17, Ps 83, ME prelude to Russian/Turkish/Iran/ et. al. Invasion Attempt followed by 7 years of All Double Toothpicks Breaking Out} WAR then I agree.

Really don't think that there is any time let for any other World Involving Skirmishes that would reset the ME Clock that is ticking.
    Ya, It'll leave a mark.

I have to laugh. Iran, as well, is telling the west hands off, let them settle it internally, when they themselves have large numbers of special forces troops killing Syrian people on behalf of the butcher Assad.

Default Russian weapons sent to Syria - my thoughts

I just read morning paper about Russia is sending weapons to Syria. It's unbelievable that Syria is getting:

    1) Combat Helicopters
    2) Pantsyr Air Defense System
    3) BUK-M2 Air Defense System
    4) Bastion Anti-Ship Missile System
    5) YAK-30 Combat Jets

It does not make any sense for Syria to deploy air defense system and anti-ship missile system to defend against the Free Syrian Army (FSA). The FSA doesn't EVEN have fighter planes and military ships!!! They only have machine guns, homemade small bombs, mortars, etc to fight against Assad's army. It's possible that the United States is providing FSA only with these small weapons, they (the USA) won't send missiles, aircrafts, helicopters, etc.

I believe that Russia and Syria are doing the "military buildup" in Syria, they are planning to invade Israel (along with Iran and some other countries as prophesied in the Book of Ezekiel).

President Assad is holding the world's largest stock of chemical weapons in Syria, it's possible that he will use them against Israel, to distract the FSA and attempt to start a new war in the Middle East region. The Israelis (Jews) will not forget the horrors of Holocaust (the deaths of six million Jews). They won't let it happen again, they'll have to execute "Samson Option" by launching a nuclear missile against Syria (Damascus).

We'll see. Pray for God's protection over Israel and the United States.

Default More concern about Syria: Who has the WMD's now?

    http://www.thejerusalemgiftshop.com/...-crumbles.html

From the article: (All emphasis mine)

The fighting in Syria has “taken on the contours of a sectarian-tinged civil war,” leading to fears that its vast stockpiles of chemical and biological weapons could fall into the hands of terrorists and threaten the entire region.

The United Nations estimates that more than 10,000 people, mostly civilians, have been killed in Syria and tens of thousands displaced since the uprising began 18 months ago, as Assad cracks down on the demonstrators.“The longer fighting continues, the more al-Qaeda-affiliated groups entrench themselves in Syria,” defense expert Michael Rubin commented, calling on the U.S. administration to be ready to secure Syrian weapons if and when President Bashar Assad falls.

Naveh’s statements regarding chemical weapons and missiles came shortly after Syrian rebels commandeered a Syrian air force base near the city of Homs and took possession of a number of surface-to-air missile batteries and an unknown quantity of other weapons stored at the base.

    (End of quotes)

Could all of this stock piled WMD be the mass destruction of Damascus, as potentailly those who are less schooled in the care and feeding of WMD's gain control of them?

It would be interesting if Damascus was destroyed from within rather than by Israel or another country.

Most of those weapons can make it more difficult for US/Euro forces to intervene. Command of the skies is a huge military advantage no matter who you're fighting against. Russia is taking steps to help protect a regime that is their ally. Russians will have to be involved in operating these assets otherwise they would be of no use to Syria for quite some time unless they already have ample folks trained in these systems.

It sure would be! Ironic also!
It seems like the drama continues to ratchet up in Syria.

All it takes are a few errant artillery shells.

My guess is somehow the chem/bio stuff gets released forming a toxic cloud that will drift to Israel.

There is no option but to nuke and burn up the cloud. Prophecy fulfilled - but then there will be no life in Damascus -
except a few very large ... mutant bugs?

Maybe it gets blowed up while A-jad's nuke is being transported thru Damascus towards Israel when the truck carrying it gets hit by a driverless bus because of the rapture.....

    Not too far fetched....

I believe Damascus is one big tenderbox--an ammunition depot used for the future Arab pact war against Israel. That hour is quickly approaching. 'A heap of ruins...' describes its outcome. To my understanding, the biblical name for Damascus is Aram. Could someone correct me if I'm wrong...

I believe Russia is clearly drawing a line in the sand daring the west to step over it. Russia was once a proud world super power before their fall. They want that status back and are using Syria as the means to do it. Headlines today also pointed out that the United States was considering military options to bring Asad down. The last massacre was just too much for the west to look the other way on. Will Obama have the nerve to step over that line? Only WWlll will tell.

Maybe they will move them over to Lebanon or back into Iraq where they came from to start with.
