Rihanna Shares Joyce Meyer's Teachings With Fans, Calls "Christian" Speaker 'Awesome'

Rihanna's spiritual beliefs may have raised questions for some in the past, but the 24-year-old singer is not afraid to admit that she is a fan of Christian minister and author Joyce Meyer.
This month, the record-breaking Barbadian singer has been using her Twitter account to spread Meyer's teachings.

"If Satan can defeat you in your thoughts then he can defeat you anywhere else as well," reads a message written by Meyer and re-tweeted by Rihanna on June 4.

To underline her point, the singer sent a tweet to Meyer directly.

"@JoyceMeyer you're awesome," Rihanna told the minister via Twitter on the following day.

When one of Rihanna's fans tweeted about Meyer being "one of the few with the non-corny quotes on Twitter," the singer retweeted the message and gave the person some advice.

"Get into her books," Rihanna told the fan.

The singer stayed on the topic of spirituality, tweeting her own wisdom to followers.

"The devil wants to steal your joy because he knows that joy is your strength," Rihanna tweeted. "That is why sometimes we need each other."

A few days later, the Barbadian entertainer retweeted another godly message from Meyer.

"God works according to the law of gradual growth, so don't be discouraged if your progress seems slow," read Meyer's words on Rihanna's page.

The singer followed up Meyer's tweet with another one of her own that seemed to reflect her own spiritual beliefs.

"Whatever may be your task, work at it from the soul, as it was something done for Jah and not for men," Rihanna wrote.

While Rihanna has taken Twitter by storm with over 20,000 followers, it seems Christian leaders may be more popular than entertainers in terms of how many messages are shared with others. Meyer has topped the list of popular Christian figures, with 170 reactions to her tweets per every 50,000 followers, according to The New York Times.

p.s. for Rihanna to be given the gift of discernment and she comes to know JESUS if she dont know him already

Listening to her music, what she finds as joy is a lil' different than what we are taught in the Good Book.

I'll tell ya another thing, I have been researching the music industry for a long time, and these people often reverse God and Satan's name. It's what attracts people to thinking they are of God.
I'm sure she can turn around at any moment, but she's got a long way to go.

I never considered her to truly be a Christian anyways. If she claimed to be one.. It doesn't show in how she parties and in her music...

Pray she'll get not into Joyce's books, but into GOD'S BOOK.

I've read some more about her.

It gets really graphic, but it seems she may be realizing the mistake's she has made and is perhaps trying to turn.
Still yet, what she surrounds her self with, basically leaves her no chance. Fame and fortune comes with a huge price tag.

John Lenon did the same thing......didn't turn out good for him.

I'm going to step out on a limb here and say that I am glad Rihanna is listening to someone who is "trying" to preach the Word. Granted, there may be inaccuracies of some Biblical concepts coming from Ms. Meyers, but the idea that Rihanna is interested at all, and tweeting things that seem okay is a good sign.

Rihanna is searching. She may feel more comfortable listening to a woman teach. Who knows? In any case, I hope she continues to pursue the Lord of the Bible by reading the Word. May she continue on her quest and eventually come to know the True Lord of the Bible.

Also, by tweeting her interest in Ms. Myers, she may be encouraging others to seek Him as she is doing. There may be some good come of this, more than if she had no connection to the Word at all.

Let the tomatoes fly. I'm sure many will disagree with me.

I agree with you. Even though this is apostasy, if this gets this singer and others who admire her to come to the true Lord, then it's a great thing (the coming to the Lord, not the apostasy). My first instinct when I hear about this kind of thing is to pray, that all involved hear and accept the truth in the Bible.
