    Cross The gospel in America?

The church in America...can anyone please tell me which churches are actually equiping their people with the gospel and than telling them to go preach it? The brothern overseas do such a great work with the gospel with the help of God's Holy Spirit. Yet, where's can the missionaries be found in America? Who is preaching the gospel to Jehovah's Witnesses,Mormons, Scientology people and whoever else in America? I know individuals do, but what about the church?

You know how many JW, Mormons and other people die everyday without the gospel in the U.S.A? What's the church doing about it? Rock concerts, watered down sermons and whatever else...that's not exactly how to reach the lost. No wonder Jesus wanted to get sick in Rev...I don't blame Him.

The rapture is about to happen and...well Father's Daytoday is a perfect example. What are people doing? Eating barbeques, drinking alcohol, listening to secular music and who knows what else...have they given one thought to the Lord today?

Now the Church in America accepts homosexuality...

America's materialsm has really hurt the church. Take away the houses, shiny cars and money-what do we have? A bunch of lost souls. The church in America is in trouble...we "play church" and say we're a "Christian nation". We're up to our heads in secularism. So, many preachers only care about money. They preach a false gospel...saying God wants you to be rich. W'ere already rich in Christ, we don't need money to be rich...

So, where exactly is the gospel being preached in America? Where's the missionaries in America?

I don't know what the policy is of other churches, but my church has missions both in America and overseas.

I'm not not saying that we should not spred the Gospel here in America, of course we should, but most all of us Americans have heard the Gospel and know that Jesus is the Christ. I witness most everyday to at least one if not to more people and most Americans have made a choise and have said yes or no to Christ. The Church will get called up when the fulness of the gentiles are brought in/when the Church is full. If we are in the last days of the end of the age then that means that the Church is about full, places like America that has had the Gospel for years, well IMO, say if there where 10,000 people left to be saved and then the Church would be full, well how many of them 10,000 would be here in America? Well maybe some but more than likely most of the 10,000 would be in countries that have not had the Gospel there for very long. There will come a time when only 1 or 200 people are left to be saved, now that should not stop us from witnessing to our loved ones or to those that live close to us but there are over 7 billion of us now, IMO it is getting harder to find anyone that has never heard here in America or has not made a choice.

    1. We don't have a state church.

    2. If you don't like the churches around you, keep looking. I have to travel over an hour each way to get to mine; but they are a wonderful, equipping ministry. They do loads of outreach.

    3. It does NO good to rail about "No one is evangelizing the unreached". YOU - yes, you, have to go out and do it, after serious prayer and Bible study lead you to the way in which God wants you to reach them.

I was on my own in evangelism for years. Then my husband joined me. A while later, I found a good church, but I had to actually hit the pavement, myself, for years before I found the right church family.

Isaiah 6:8 I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: “ Whom shall I send, And who will go for Us?”

Then I said, “Here am I! Send me.”

Snoopy, don't confuse the Emergent *churches*/social groups and others with the Bride of Christ and paint the true Church with a broad brush.

There are still many, many churches doing great things for God as they follow Him. Humility means they don't take out full-page ads in major newspapers to tell of their works.

There are also many ministries online that you can easily find that do outreach and apologetics re: the cults. Some have been given you re: the JW's.

If you see a specific need, pray that you be used to fill it.

There's people, like people that's been online, that are part of the Bride of Christ. It's just alot of churches...the churches make it difficult. How could I find a church?

I hear ya! I would stay away from anything with Reformed in it's name, for one thing.

Although some Calvary Chapels may be troubled, they're still by and large a good place to start looking, imo. Here is how to find one in your area: http://ccofministry.org/index.php?op...=84&Itemid=106

Bible Churches (like Anytown Bible Church) tend to be good too.

It will take going to churches to see what they believe and preach and to see if you can feel at home there.

Yup. And also try checking out doctrinal statements posted on a prospective church's website to help you narrow down which ones to visit.

Many Baptist churches are pretty good, and IFCA (Independent Fundamental Churches of America). Today it's harder to find out what a church is because the trend is to not state the denomination in the church's name. For example, I grew up in Arcade Baptist Church. They have changed their name to Arcade Church (Arcade being a local area).

When you accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, that automatically made you a missionary. You're a missionary in your home, your school, your work, your community. Just because you're not overseas somewhere that doesn't mean you're not a missionary.

As before in your JW post, I'm going to point you to "The Way of the Master" series. They do go over the different cults and uses their own material and the Bible to point out why the religion is wrong. Like they use the Watchtower magazine and the Bible to show how the JWs are wrong.
While I don't personally know of any church that accepts homosexuality (other than what I read about in articles) I will say the main reason they do (even though they know it's wrong) is for the almighty dollar (as you pointed to in your last paragraph.) People will give money to what makes them feel good (tickle their ears) the churches know that, they don't wanna step on peoples toes and lose money. Wrong? VERY.

Finding a church these days isnt easy. It's the age we live in. I'm still praying and looking myself. I used to watch Joyce Meyer, I started seeing prosperity gospel weaved into her messages, so I prayed about that and I turned to her show one day and she was giving a sermon in Joel Osteen's church and that answered it for me. The only TV preacher I can really watch and feel convicted by the Holy Spirit with the music and the sermon is Jimmy Swaggart's ministries. (I know JS isn't a favorite among RR b/c of his stunt back 20yrs ago.) But anyways, I listen to his grandson Gabriel (the youth pastor) and he does some really good preaching on sanctification, sin, etc. If you feel like it, check him out and judge for yourself.

I will say your not going to find a "perfect" church because they are made up of imperfect people or perfect preacher. People hurt feelings, they make mistakes, they're misinformed, they're just humans. But just pray for God to lead you where He wants you. Maybe He wants you to make the difference.

    Hi.....
just ask The Lord to guide you in meeting born again believers and fellowship with them...at home may be or in the park....
I have the same problem here in Australia...either dead churches or heretical ones like WOF or Purpose driven churches.....
So,me and my wife are not going in those buildings they call churches, rather we have a personal devotional life and home study with other believers...and just tell about Jesus, pray with people, tell them about salvation in Him,by Grace through Faith .....
    Blessings

Its being preached every day, which does not mean men have ears to hear it. What precisely is the gospel, snoop? It is a very simple message, but men aren't so simple in their minds, they simple cannot believe something so...simple.
Don't panic! Just be Rapture Ready.

    Joel 3:2

Please don't misrepresent this. First, it wasn't a *stunt* he pulled, it was compounded sins.

What we have trouble with is that he refused to humble himself and repent publicly, as he is a public person and the sin was public, known all over the world. It was and still is a black eye for all of us. Swaggart to this day has rejected any opportunity to set that right.

Therefore, we have Biblical instruction to not fellowship with him, much less give him a platform to preach illegitimately.

Please forgive me. I realize what he did was wrong and didn't mean to imply otherwise.

    Of course.

Just wanted to clarify our position.

To further clarify... Would you say it's okay to listen to his grandson Gabriel?? I've learned a lot from him when it comes to the process of sanctification. Something I've never heard some preachers talk about. I think that's an important part of our Christian life that needs attention.

Or should we avoid Swaggarts altogether??

I don't know anything about the show, whether Gabriel promotes Jimmy, etc. If he does, he's supporting a man in rebellion and that is out of order also.

Very accurate. One of my African (really, from Africa) drivers told me "You're a missionary at home, Heather!".
