Thread: Abraham born in year 1948 from creation Israel became nation in 1948 AD

Default Abraham born in year 1948 from creation Israel became nation in 1948 AD

I found this in my Bible study last week. Very interesting. As Chuck Missler says, "There is nothing in the Bible without a reason."

Genesis 5 Generations of Adam through Noah (Shem, Ham, Japheth)
Genesis 11:10-26 Generations of Shem through Abram.

Genesis 12 God promises a nation to Abram and calls him out of Haran.
Abram was seventy-five years old when he departed out of Haran in the year 2023.

In light of posting rule 11, what exactly is the point you are trying to make?

Come soon Lord Jesus - Take us Safely Home

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Psalm 19:14 Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.

Maybe I am confused, but do these calculations seem to show that each child was born the year that the previous person died??? Please clarify for me. Thx!

I like Dr. David Reagan's (somewhat related) article on this subject:

The list I've posted shows at which year a person was born or has died. After each name are little signs:

    * means born
    + means died
    ^ means raptured

Terah's (*1878 AH) sons were Haran *1948 AH, Nahor and Abraham *2008 AH. His daughter was Sarah *2018 AH. Terah's father was also called Nahor. Haran was the father of Lot. Sarah, Abraham's wife, was also his half-sister, they had the same father.

Got it! Thanks for clarifying Ovicula, I think in "HeLives" post the word "Lived" confused me, as if for instance: Adam lived 130 years and begat a son.... (taking the word lived as the length of his life, rather than the time he had lived before he begat a son)

Though this is interesting is there a final point in it?

    Thanks again!

In the original post was an arithmetic error. It states that Abraham was born in 1948 after the creation. I'd like to elaborate it. Abraham was actually born in 2008 after the creation.

I do believe that that is more accurate.

Can you back up with scripture that Abraham was born in 2008? Gen 11:26 says that "And Terah lived seventy years, and begat Abram, Nahor, and Haran." They could have been triplets or twins and a single birth. My aunt gave birth to two children in 1962. The first one in January and the second one in December.

My reason for posting this was excitement of a new discovery for me. I found that Abram who was promised by God this nation of Jews was born in 1948. The nation for the Jews in modern times was founded in 1948 AD. Isn't this the Prophecy & End Times bulletin board?

There are many parallels in scripture. Don't you find it interesting that Jacob had twelve sons. Joseph being one of them, whom was his favorite, the firstborn of the wife he loved, was not an ancestor of Jesus. And Joseph the wife of Mary, his father was named Jacob. And this second Joseph is not an ancestor of Jesus.

The geneology of Jesus through Joseph is found in Matthew chapter 1

I agree... its always exciting to find something new in God's word... Sorry for my confusion earlier. I just read an article that also shows that the bible predicted 1948 as the re-birth of Israel... found that interesting too!

If this is a geneology tree you have a lot wrong with it. I have numbered it for clarity. You have repeated names in places that are not in order. Lamech is the father of Noah. You should remove #s 10, 11 and 12. Noah is the father of Shem. You should remove #s 14, 15, 16 and 17. Terah is the father of Abram (Abraham) and you should remove #s 31-35. You have Terah #31 being born in 1878 which I agree with. Gen 11:26 says And Terah lived seventy years, and begat Abram, Nahor, and Haran. 1878 + 70 = 1948
