My DH is a meteorologist. He says that it's projected to be a similar summer to 1988. Corn prices are already going up. Farmers need rain desperately.

Imagine the impact of an EMP weapon during extremes of temperature. Or, try not to think about it.

Ugg my worst nightmare if that happened. Temp today 105 degrees tommorow even worse. Our A/C stopped for 2 hours had to go to the neighbors to cool down because I have a severe autoimmune disorder if I get to hot, my body overheats and I stop breathing, thank you Lord the A/C turned itself back on we don't know what happened. But we have someone coming to check it out.

Odd... That's been really weighing on me.

Update to you all as I did in the prayer request thread. Colorado Springs seems to be out of danger now and many evacuation zones have been allowed reentry. There were 346 homes burned and 2 confirmed dead found in the same house. The fire has been moving Northwest and a mountain town called Woodland Park could be in danger. Please pray for their safety and that of the firefighters. Thank you all for your prayers.
Did I read there is a new one in Estes Park?

Washington breaks record temperature set in 1934

WASHINGTON - The Washington area has broken a record high temperature set almost 80 years ago.

The National Weather Service says that just before 3 p.m., it was 104 degrees at Reagan National Airport just outside the city. That beats the record of 101 set in 1934.

Baltimore was also experiencing temperatures in the 100s. It was 102 at Baltimore Washington International Airport around 3 p.m. That was shy of the record of 105 set in 1934.

That has been in the back of my mind for a few years. It would not surprise me.

When I got into my car Thursday at 5 pm, my cars temp said it was 117!

Let it calibrate a little after the car was running? Mine has said 113 before and then gone down a bit. Still it means it's hot though.

    Default Pray for Arkansas, too.

Things are crispy, here. I see trees in backyards dying. Sod is dying. Turtles, frogs, lizards, squirrels and birds are looking for water.

    Default The Heat Dome

This heat is unbelievable. Here in Indianapolis the heat index tomorrow is supposed to be 114 degrees. I was born and raised in Texas and I "never" remember anything like this. The weather people said that these records go back over 80 yrs. We will get a bit of a break Monday, but then the temps climb again.
I am so thankful that the Lord will remove the Church and we do not have to go thru the tribulation as the temps will be even worse than now. Am I alone in this thinking about a comparison to those terrible days ahead for those left behind?

Don't worry, all our mansions have central air conditioning and the bill has been paid.

    Amazing.

It's funny how one of the arguments against a pre-trib rapture is that it is silent and / or secretive.

    I strongly object!

If people observed what Jesus instructed about watching and praying and understanding the season, signs and times, then, like Paul himself said, that day would not take anyone by surprise.

Newt Gingrich opined about how the weather and lack of power from last weekend's Derecho storm was a small taste of what an EMP attack would do to the power grid. That wasn't my first thought when I heard about the storm and power outage, but it does make you think, huh?

Unless the plan changes for tomorrow it is going to be our hottest with a temp of 105, and heat index 106-111. Saturday night & Sunday in the day 30% chance of rain in the low 90's. Next week they are saying 80's. I sure hope so! I hope we all get a relief from this heat, and some rain would sure help.

It is supposed to be in the mid 100's here the next couple days too, very hot. But I recall many other years when the temps were over 100, but those were anomalies, this time its happening during a major climatic shift and worth noting.

In heaven there is no pain and suffering, thus if our glorified bodies are able to feel the temperature then it cannot ever be cold or hot, as both extremes cause anquish, pain and suffering.

He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me....
