Everything has a purpose in nature. You also have to understand since the fall of mankind and sin entering into God's Creation, it put an awful blemish on His intended design.
The world was never meant to operate under sin as it does now. God yet subsists it and has changed the rules so that things can 'work', but it's a far different place then as God would have had it from the beginning.
It does offend God and the way the world is now won't be that way forever, or much longer for that matter.
We live even now in the end times and the return of Jesus Christ to this world to judge and condemn it with fire and awful judgements is very near.
Jesus Christ intends a new Heavens and a new Earth free of sin and in line with His intentions. Creation, nature groans and is eager for this day to come, along with us who are His children; the restoration of all things.
This is where the Bible speaks of lions, wolves, and lambs laying together in peace among people, and little children among venomous snakes the parents having no fear of any harm coming to them.
In this day bees won't sting you and every stinging and biting and dangerous critter and creeping thing will not harm you. Things that are filthy now will be clean then.
The world, nature, animals of every kind and variety and people, mankind, all in perfect peace and harmony; altogether God's design. This is what dreams are made of.
This is what God intended and does intend even now for those who love Him. And this is but a small taste our Lord and God has permitted us to know from His word.
Our Bible tells us we can't even begin to fathom, that it is impossible, to know or begin to contemplate the wonderful, fantastic, and unknowable things God has in store for those who will accept salvation in Jesus Christ.

Since I don't have a real answer, I'll make up something.
A pair of each sneaked into Noah's ark. One night they heard Noah tell his boys that God had said to "Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth". They took the message to heart.
Their purpose is to challenge man to invent repellants effective enough to dissuade Jehovah Witnesses, Mormons, Moonies, and Moon Pie salesmen who may come to your door. I can now reveal that there is such a product under development called "Cult Begone".
After use, you can sweep up the pamphlets left behind. If the Moon Pie salesmen drop their products before running away, you will at least have something of value.

Fleas, ticks, redbugs? There are just some things we will have to ask Him when we see Him. Yaaaaaaay......I hope we get to see Him soon, I'm so ready to go!

I can't advocate for cochroaches... I simply don't like those critters one bit... and I likewise do not care for mosquitos, but I can say that mosquitos feed a good number of the worlds birds who come up here in the summer time to build their nests and have their chicks. So skeeters are on the lower end of the food chain and important for other species that we care more about.
And, being that I live in Alaska, I cover myself in deet from head to toe before stepping outside, lest I be carried off by one of the larger skeeters that we have who patrol our skies looking for prey. That's probably why I like winter more than summer... In winter I don't have to worry about being kidnapped by skeeters who never offer to release you for ransom... when they take you, you're just never seen again...

Well, here's my spin: everything that was created was done so with the forethought of what was to come; the fall. This life is what it is; the trek of bringing man to the place of dwelling with God with that end result in mind and it required a struggle with evil. God is truly masterful in His ways, which is shown by His prophetic utterances of declaring the end from the beginning.
I believe every creature, every life, every occurrence, has its place in the whole scheme of things. He is truly wonderful and creative with His every move in the affairs of men.
