It is with deep sadness and regret that we announce Tommy Sparger is no longer the Lead Pastor of North Point Church.

This past Friday, June 29 Pastor Tommy Sparger confessed to a moral failure to the board of trustees of North Point Church, and with this announcement he tendered his resignation.


The board is setting in place a plan for the congregation, both short- and long- term, that will be communicated in the next few days.

Our prayers are with Tommy and Rachel and their family during this very difficult time.

SEEKER DRIVEN PASTOR TOMMY SPARGER RESIGNS CITING “MORAL FAILURE”

Apprising Ministries talked about Tommy Sparger, who planted North Point Church, just a few days ago in Seeker Driven Pastor Tommy Sparger’s Father’s Day Video.

We have just learned from North Point Pastor Resigns, Cites “Moral Failure” that Sparger:


The Pastor of North Point Church has resigned. The church has posted this notification on it’s website.

“It is with deep sadness and regret that we announce Tommy Sparger is no longer the Lead Pastor of North Point Church. This past Friday, June 29 Pastor Tommy Sparger confessed to a moral failure to the board of trustees of North Point Church, and with this announcement he tendered his resignation. The board is setting in place a plan for the congregation, both short- and long- term, that will be communicated in the next few days. Our prayers are with Tommy and Rachel and their family during this very difficult time.” (source)

North Point Church holds contemporary services and says that “more than 4,000 people come through their doors each weekend.” (source)

KY3 news adds that Tommy Sparger:


of North Point Church made a surprise announcement Saturday as he has resigned his position. The announcement was made during the church’s 5 p.m. service.

In the statement, the board says they are working on a plan for the congregation in both the short and long term, and that information will be released in the next few days. (source)

Finally, KSPR TV also points out that:


North Point Church has expanded from its northwest Springfield location twice in the past two years, once in east Springfield and most recently in Nixa. (source)

Indeed, let us be in prayer for Tommy Sparger and his family. That he confessed is a step in the right direction.

Let’s also keep in mind here, that whatever this moral failure may have been, the Gospel of repentance and forgiveness of sins in Jesus’ Name offers hope to the Sparger family.

May the Lord bring healing and restoration:
