Turkey says bodies of 2 Turkish pilots found

ANKARA, Turkey—Turkey's military says bodies of two pilots whose jet was shot down by Syria have been found in the sea bed.

State-run TRT television says a U.S. deep-sea exploration vessel, E/V Nautilus, found the bodies in eastern Mediterranean on Wednesday.

Syrian forces shot down the RF-4 plane on June 22. Turkey says it was hit in international airspace while Syria insists it was flying inside Syrian airspace.

The downing of the plane has worsened already tense Turkish-Syrian relations.

Bodies of Turkish fighter jet pilots found

Turkey’s military claim to have discovered the bodies of the two pilots whose F-4 fighter jet was shot down by Syria in late June.
A rescue operation is now carried out to recover the remains that have been found among the plane wreckage from the sea bottom.

Bodies were discovered at a thousand-meter depth 12 days after it was downed near the Syrian coast.

A rescue operation was launched on June 22 hot on the heels of the incident.

Syria alleges the aircraft trespassed into its territory, while Turkey argues the jet was attacked in the international air space.

In an interview with the daily Turkish newspaper Cumhuriyet, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad accounted to these actions as self-defense in the times of war.

We should remember that Turkey is hostile and does not always tell the truth.
Where the F4 was when it shot at is not necessarily the same place as it crashed. Top speed of an F4 is around Mach 2.

I like how just a few days ago Turkey was saying that the pilots ejected and were safely recovered. Makes me think that they are using this as an excuse to attack Syria. Why else would you say that the pilots bodies were found on the sea bed when you just got through stating confidently that they were found alive and safe. I really smell a rat here.

We need to all be looking up, our Redeemer really is right at the door. I pray for the safety of Israel.
