I believe it has to be taken willingly, a baby certainly wouldn't be able to take it willingly, they are too young to make any kind of choice like that.

I am not my own, I've surrendered to You, Lord.

There is One King, and He is not this guy.

Remember, we do not know what the mark consists of or exactly what it is. Some prophecy teachers have theorized that it might tamper with our biological makeup or brain in some sort of way. If this is the case, this would impact ANY who received it--including babies. We have to trust God with this one. I believe he has more compassion than the warmest human heart.

If a bible teacher theorizes that it messes with the biological makeup and would lead to people doing other than they would ordinarily do I would reject that out of hand. Theoretically if people would have their will forced biologically, or otherwise, leading them to a decision that means eternal damnation, they would have a great challenge to God's Justice.

I for one am firmly in the camp that a person will receive the mark as an exercise of their free will, just as we have done in being Born Again.

Taking the mark of the beast is driven by choice, a choice that only adults can make. It is ridiculous to say that God would harm babies and children who have not passed the age of accountability. No, God doesn't operate that way. He is fair and just and would never damn anyone who didn't have a choice.

Exactly. The person freely chooses the mark. But the mark (according to some theories) does not impact will as much as it has a weird way of connecting the person who receives it to the beast. I have read any number of theories on this. Some have suggested it is a computer chip that allows information to flow to and from anti-christ headquarters for example. Others have theorized that it will be a chip which allows manipulation or other changes. It is not far from probability to imagine that receiving a computer chip into your hand or head would allow you to receive information that others do not have. I am no longer of opinion that it is simply a mark on the outside of the skin. I do think it will be some sort of computer chip--freely chosen but once you choose it, you are never the same. What that will exactly look like, I don't know.

Another thought I've had about this subject is that the only information we have in the Bible about the Mark is that it is used for buying and selling. Infants do not need to buy or sell, neither do small children, so maybe it is not necessary for them to join the "system". This might be how they are protected. I would be concerned about teenagers though.

You have to willingly take the mark. My 8 month old grandson won't even take a nap so I think he is safe.

True. I meant all will be forced to make a choice, take it or earthly death. (not every single person will have to because some trib saints have to be here at the end of the trib, they can't have the mark, connect the dots...). I agree it is a willful acceptance and compliance.

But then you have the age of accountability. I know that whatever God chooses to do will be right but this is a hard two folded answer...

Also it causes all, both small and great, both rich and poor, both free and slave, to be marked on the right hand or the forehead, (Revelation 13:16 ESV) emphasis added

He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, (Revelation 13:16 NKJV) again emphasis added

And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: (Revelation 13:16 KJV) emphasis added

So we see regardless of translation, it repeatedly uses the word ALL. It didn't say except all under 18, or all except those who don't understand what this really means, but ALL. Wether they accept it or not is their and their choice only. Just like because your parents are saved doesn't mean you are, I'd think the same would go here. And likewise in the OT God destroyed all of the world except Noah and crew, all of sodom and Gomorrah, even the kids and babies, so they wouldn't start it all over again. And since the age of grace would be gone at tha point I would have to make an educated guess of hell. BUT like buzzard hut suggested, knowing Gods heart, it does and doesn't fit into His character... I'm thinking of making a movie or a book about the Trib and so on, so you might see some more tough questions.....
Well then if all receive it, according to most of the posters here, then all would go to hell but we know that is not what happens. There are saved people that go through the trib and into the millennium kingdom. I agree with one of the other posters that said God will do the right thing. He is a God of grace, mercy and lets not leave out logic. It just doesn't seem to be any of those things to send poor little babies to hell for eternity because of a mark they did not ask to receive.
    II Peter 1
19We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:
20Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.

Our Jesus basically says : Don't mess with kids!

Just my two cents worth-and I know you all know this too- We are all born with a sin nature..however, children, under the age of accountability (age 12 or 13 as in the Jewish tradition of Bar Mitzvah) are not held accountable. Our Lord knows they have innocent hearts! The gospel is full of references regarding how Jesus felt about children.

    Matthew 19:14
But Jesus said, "Suffer little children, and forbid them not to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven".

And there's plenty more from where that came from! So, Jesus holds these little tribulation babies just as much in His heart as other babies. Marked or not, computer chip or not they belong to Him. Unfortunately they may not live too long during that time with all hell breaking loose around them. That grieves my heart. But Jesus will be there waiting to embrace them as they make their way up to Him. And I hope I get to help take care of them! (or will they need it-)

Not sure why this topic question is being analyzed. In order to buy or sell during the trib, the mark must be "taken" or "accepted". Babies cannot buy or sell, nor can they "take" or "accept" the mark. For accepting the mark is saying that one accepts the antichrist and his ways. Babies will be exempt.

God doesn't force us to get Saved because He has given us free will. I'm sure God is not going to let Satan steal our free will.

Satan tries to copy God in everything only in polar opposites; particularly free will. II Corinthians 10:4,5.

I've often wondered what would happen to the elderly Alzheimer/Dementia patients who don't get taken during the Rapture. The thing about mental handicap is that many mentally handicapped people were not born that way. Consider also those who have had traumatic brain injuries. On the one hand, with all of the chaos, war, etc, which will undoubtedly be going on - who knows if most of the earth will be able to provide enough care to sustain their lives in the first place.I can only imagine the shambles that our hospitals/nursing facilities/psychiatric facilities, etc will be in. I suppose another viewpoint might be that they did not choose Christ when they had the opportunity, and so they already had their chance (and whether they die with the mark or without, it's irrelevant).

I believe that is why it is of the utmost importance to come to Jesus Christ and accept Him as one's Savior.

Nobody knows what tomorrow brings. If someone is killed and had the chance to accept Jesus Christ as their Savior, unfortunately they will be sentenced to Hell. Just as someone that sustains a brain injury, Alzheimer's/Dementia, etc..

This isn't something for people to put off until tomorrow because tomorrow may be too late.
