There is absolutely no need for a law like this. What about letting the child stay or live with step parents, extended family, grandparents, aunts and uncles, older siblings before foster care? I mean, isn't that the way we do it now without naming extra parents? Isn't this just common sense?

California has always been in a different world than the other states it seems to be a leader in all things immoral. This is stupid just leave it the way it always has been and if the other so called parent wants custody let that person go to court to get it that is what usually happens anyway. If they can't afford court maybe they can't afford the child.
