    Default Brethren in Christ?

Does anyone know anything about "Brethren in Christ" or the "Christadelphian Tidings" magazine? The reason I'm asking is that I was doing some research on Revelation 2:17, and came across a teaching by them. i.e. the white stone and new name... Thanks for any and all help.

There is an evangelical denomination by that name. I was born & raised in one of their congregations. It used to be quite a Biblically sound denomination. I don't know 100% if they still hold to sound doctrine or not, but I will include a couple of links for you.

The last link provides the important information & distinction that the denomination is in no way linked to the group 'Brethren in Christ' also known as Christadelphians.

Here's a link from Wiki on the Christadelphians. It's got a good bit of info.

    Thanks Mary Rae!

OK, I *think* I have come to the conclusion that the name on the white stone will be the *new* name for Jesus, and not a new name for us individually, except that we will take on His new name, as a bride takes her husbands name. Is this correct?

Rev_2:17 'He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes, to him I will give some of the hidden manna, and I will give him a white stone, and a new name written on the stone which no one knows but he who receives it.'

Im not sure you can tells whos name it is with any certainty, though I would guess it is a new name for you personally.

Remember... Many people were given new names in Scripture when they had an important change in status. Abram became Abraham, for instance.
The heavens are telling of the glory of God; And their expanse is declaring the work of His hands.
Day to day pours forth speech, And night to night reveals knowledge.
