I just returned from a trip to NJ due to the passing of my mother in law. While at the funeral home during the 2 visiting hours, I observed that was the only non-catholic person there paying my respects. It was so sad. They were laying rosary beads and crosses in the coffin as if any of that stuff mattered. The most depressing thing though was the actual funeral mass. It was all so robotic and almost scripted, with nearly no mention of anything Scritual. Then they all took what they call communion, with the priest, after being bowed to, said to each person, "the body of Christ" as they accepted their piece of the wafer. These people are so lost in their doctrine.

As a born catholic, I was taught about the three days of darkness. I read the OP, and it confirmed what I was taught...don't look outside, or you will die.
I always thought it was a steal from the story of Sodom and Gomorrah...don't look back or you will die (which is truth.) RCC teachings do take what they want from the Bible, turn it upside down, and ignore the rest.
God, I pray that You open the eyes of so many of my family that remain in the RCC...aunts, cousins, and all others who are deceived.
Thank you Lord for saving me!

I know the Lord is always with me. I will not be shaken because He is right beside me. Ps. 16:8

like the poster above I too was raised RCC with this 3 days of darkness drummed into me....it is both interesting and sad that many Catholics believe in the whole 3 days of darkness scenerio but question the truth of a rapture at all!! There is a website called catholic answers which is a forum....and the discussions that take place about the topic of rapture and tribulation and 3 days of darkness are quite concerning....

Many catholics readily believe what a number of "saints" have said and written regarding the 3 days of darkness...along with marian apparitians supposedly confirming this.....and yet these same people are hesitant to trust and believe in the book of Revelation...along with other scrpiture passages which speak of our blessed hope and the rapture, tribulation etc....

Make no mistake - this is indeed a spiritual blindness....I have seen many other Christians also now doubting in a rapture and subscribing to the "we must all go thru the tribulation" theory....or should I write - deception!!! and whilst we should where possible speak the truth into the lives of people caught up in such delusions - we must also be aware that this is indeed a spiritual battle and our real struggle is not with our fellow man... Ephesians 6 :10-18.

I pray that we may all be strengthened in whatever way we most need to be at this time...and may we all remember to put on the whole armour of God...I shall continue to pray for you all my brothers and sisters...continue to persevere...continue to pray...continue to love...May the peace that only God can give be with you all and may His perfect love drive any fear and anxiety far from your minds and hearts!

I've taken some of the misinformation the rcc teaches and put it together and it all makes sense to me now. I know exactly why they refuse to teach a rapture for the saints.

First, it must be kept in mind that they are the whore of Babylon, the woman that rides the beast. They have always endeavored to present themselves as the only true way into heaven, via purgatory and aided by prayers and indulgences for the dead.

A while back I read, I don't remember the source, that the rcc teaches Matthew 24:40-41. They teach this part as the truth, that unfaithful will be taken and the faithful left. That is how many people interpret this passage. The rcc has always taught to varying degrees, that anyone who claims Christ for themselves while bypassing the rcc is at best separated brethern and at worst, worthy of death, and the rcc has the blood of many of the saints on it's metaphorical hands.

When the rapture comes, we terrible people who claimed Christ for ourselves without using the rcc as our mediator are the ones who will be caught up. We are going to the Fathers House! The rcc will claim that the rapture is actually the events of Matthew 24:40-41, and that the Lord, angry with those who try to get to heaven while bypassing His 'true church', will have swept us away out of the world, and that we will all be in eternal punishment, while the good and faithful true believers, those who pray to Mary and the other saints, those who believe one must be catholic to be saved, are left behind to rule the earth, and to show the rest of the world that salvation can be theirs, if they obey the tenants of the rcc faith. They may even try to spin it as the beginning of the millenial kingdom.

The will have 3 1/2 years, the first half of the tribulation, to keep reminding people that we evil ones who tried to claim Jesus for ourselves but refused to join the rcc have been spirited out of the world and to eternal destruction. It's quite a hook. Think of all those gullible unbelievers out there trying to figure out what happened to all the missing people. The 'spiritual authority' comes forward and claims we're gone because there was no hope for our salvation. They use a very small passage from the Bible to prove their point and then they do that which they do best. Explain the Bible, their way, full of loads of misinformation, drawing people into the rcc. Convincing them of lies and hiding the Truth from them. I have little doubt that people would be so filled with fear that they would think nothing of bowing down and worshipping the 'pope'.

Of course 3 1/2 years into the tribulation, Satan is thrown out of heaven, comes to earth, indwells the ac and wanting to be worshipped directly, removes the pope and this hellish religion from earth once and for all. The rcc who led so many souls to hell is going to be betrayed, by the 'god' she worshipped, Satan. I honestly don't know how 3 days of darkness is going to play into this, but that's okay. I'm not going to be here for any of it anyway. I have a Savior, His Name is Jesus and like the rest of the saints, I am going .

My beloved spake, and said unto me, Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away.
For, lo, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone; the flowers appear on the earth; the time of the singing of birds is come, and the voice of the turtle is heard in our land; the fig tree putteth forth her green figs, and the vines with the tender grape give a good smell. Arise, my love, my fair one, and come away.

    Baruch haba b'Shem Adonai!
