    The birds get them.

I don't mind, the birds provide a lot of entertainment for all of us (me, Ron, and the cat). I have a couple of mulberry trees, too, but the birds eat all of them.

If I had a lot I'd probably make jam.

    Blackberries
I know they are a real pain to make work with our network. The VPN accounts seem to desynchronize for no apparent reason. E-mail issues... Not to mention they hard to type on.

My blackberries all shriveled up from the drought this year. Not even the birds were able to get to them before I did.

Here in the PNW, blackberry season is late August, so we haven't gone yet. I still remember the first time my DH took me blackberry picking about 20 years ago. I was from NYC and I couldn't believe that we could just go to some piece of undeveloped land and take food off of vines and no one would make us pay for it!

Since then, I have become quite adept at blackberry pies and blackberry-banana muffins. Of course, they're also great on ice cream.
