And if you find iPads too expensive there are some very nice Android based tablets that are much more affordable. I find Apple products are over priced and over hyped. Especially iPads and iPhones. There are also Window based tablets. Don't limit yourself to just Apple.

Loudram, I want one but can't really afford the apple. What is a good alternative that will allow me to do the basics along with word processing. (I'd like to use it instead of my notes when I preach!)

The first two things to figure out is how much do you want to spend and what size do you want? If your not sure what size you want go to a store where they have working tablets that you can actually use and try a few. See what you like. Then we can go from there. Acer and Samsung are two top names but there are other good ones out there.

And I apologize for my rant. As you have seen I am very much anti-Apple for the reasons I stated and others. Sometimes I get carried away but I want people to know that you can get a good tablet/phone without taking out a second mortgage on your house. Apple products are good but they aren't the best. People don't educate themselves on these tech purchases and either pay too much for something or have buyers remorse when they find out what they bought doesn't do what they want. They listen to hype and advertising instead of looking for themselves. That's where I want to help educate people. If you do your homework and Apple suits you best..fine. Just be smart about the money you spend.
