Recently, someone on my FB posted a couple of videos of teachings by John Crowder. I did some research (through rr) and found him to be on the "false teachers" list. I posted a comment to kindly warn them to be careful of him. There were 2 responses to my comment. Here they are:

1.) "Actually I've been following him for awhile. He loves Jesus, preaches Jesus and the cross. He has alot of good fruit in his ministry. Good fruit doesnt come from bad trees."

2.) "Actually some of these mystical experiences are Biblical:

-Teleportation: teleporation of a boat to the shore in John 6:16-21.

-Out of body: 2 Corinthians 12:2 "I know a man in Christ who fourteen years ago was caught up to the third heaven." Paul doesn't know if it's out of body, but did consider it a possibility, so we know out of body is possible with God and not demonic.

-Walking on water, cursing trees and having them wither away, turning water into wine, transfiguring, moving mountains, ascension into the sky, parting a sea, turning a stick into a serpent, drinking poison without getting harmed, handling snakes without harm, creating the universe, etc are other things of God.

They're not making fun of God when they mention these things, but are attempting to offend the religious spirit as well as proclaim that God can do anything He wants even if it looks foolish to us. The problem is church putting God in a box."

After watching some of John Crowder's videos, I don't agree with his tactics of trying to reach people. I watched an interview with him and he really seems to love the Lord. He doesn't use drugs, at all, and hasn't since he gave them up in 1995 (after his "encounter" with Jesus on acid). However, I don't agree with how he tries to have people act like they are actually smoking drugs but instead calling it the Holy Spirit. Therefore, I am NOT a "follower" of him.

Concerning the responses that I got, I don't think John 6:16-21 has any leg to stand on as being considered "teleportation" since they ROWED the boat in those verses. My thinking for some of the other stuff is that the walking on water & different things were done by Jesus (God) Himself. I'd like to get some insight from everyone else about some loving, wise responses (& verse references) that I could possibly make to these people to help them see that this guy and his tactics are not in line with the Word.

John Crowder is the utter epitome of the perverse side of spectrum of apostasy. Reading his website's statement of faith then proceeding to watch the dozens of videos of his online is about the most astonishing religious dichotomy in the history of the universe. Bi-location, little fat Friar Tuck bartender angels making sure everyone is full of the Lord's "holy, drunken glory", suckling milk from the Holy Spirit's breasts, toking the beams of the Cross, peddling worldy "raves"/parties to youth across the globe replete with "Holy Spirit" (or some other spirit frankly) joint-smoking, bong-hitting and the ilk, peddling his putrid doctrine to seldom-reached people groups (deep into the Amazon, etc...), making a mockery of the Spirit of Almighty God, the list goes on and on. If Spurgeon is Superman, Crowder is Lex Luthor. False teacher DELUXE and should be called out. Call a spade a spade. Paul called out false teachers by name under the unction of the Holy Ghost and so can we. BEWARE.

I have to say this new generation of 'bartenders' show no restraint in their dispensing of new age mysticism and esoteric theosophy. And I am not one who is against pentecostalism and the charismatic based on the bible.

You might like to also have a look at a fantastic four-part series put together by Andrew Strom on youtube - also a Charismatic believer who has noted and documented the false spirit invasion in contemporary Christian churches around the world.

I post Part 1 below together with the series description...

Those people meandered off the straight path into one of the strangest corners of the universe.
Don't panic! Just be Rapture Ready.

    Joel 3:2

I will gather all nations and bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat. There I will put them on trial for what they did to my inheritance, my people Israel, because they scattered my people among the nations and divided up my land.

I often wonder...when you see people convulsing like this, do you think it is them faking or just going along or perhaps they are possessed?

I use to see it in some of the churches I use to attend and some of it bordered on beyond physical capability to fake. Waterloo church in Sydney City was big on the Toronto / Pensacola movement. I use to walk from Sydney uni to the church (1996) and meet some friends there. One time when I wasn't there at the church a couple of girls we knew said they were standing there dumb struck at a few people bouncing on the floors after one of the ministers did his hocus pocus wave at the audience. Lots of action but looking back it appears to have been a false invasion of spirits as taught in the videos I posted above. More disturbingly, is what those movements are morphing into today with the likes of this Crowder and Bentley and John Scotland et al.
