    Lightbulb Reflecting Jesus to Others

    This morning while praying, I opened my eyes and looked out the window at the backyard trees. There's a large glass table under the window, and I noticed the bright, clear reflection of the trees and sky reflecting off the glass as if it were a clean mirror. I thought, this is how Jesus clearly reflected the Father to us when He came into the world as a man, and how His words in the Bible so clearly reflect Him as the way, the truth and the life. And I thought, this is how we are to reflect Him to others.

    My mind wandered and I pondered a dirty glass, or if things were scattered on top--the reflection would be dull or broken apart. And I thought that sin, like dirt, distorts the Christ-like reflection we are to shine to the world. That putting the world in front of Him, instead of turning away from our selfish desires, blocks the reflection of the perfect, pure and beautiful God that He is.

    Jesus is the Vine, and we are the branches, and we are to abide in Him as He abides in the love of the Father... I was reading that in John 15:1-17 last night. This morning while contemplating the quiet scene in the glass, I thought how much I want to abide in Him, breathe my life through Him, be in Him as He is in me. That He has come into me and is cleansing me, heating me up and purifying me of my dross, so He will be seen more than EarsToHear. And how much I also want that, as is written in Psalm 37:4-5:

    4 Delight yourself in the LORD;
    And He will give you the desires of your heart.

    5 Commit your way to the LORD,
    Trust also in Him, and He will do it.

    May these thoughts be a blessing to those who read this testimony, and His:
    Rom. 8:19 For the anxious longing of the creation waits eagerly for the revealing of the sons of God.
    Rom. 8:28 God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.

    Wow! That was beautiful! I love those times when he makes things so clear to us, from a brief little moment of our lives!

    Oh how I needed to hear that today. Thank-you for the beautiful and inspiring images that put in my heart.
    Please pray for my unsaved loved-ones. Time is short.

    What a beautiful post EarsToHear!

    Psalm 59:16
    But I will sing of Your power;
    Yes, I will sing aloud of Your mercy in the morning;
    For You have been my defense And refuge in the day of my trouble.

    Default You do have EarsToHear

    What an awesome morning with our God and Jesus. You were especially blessed as you spent time in His presence. I have had glimpses and I long to have that daily walk unbroken in fellowship. Not there yet, but your post pushes me forward.

    After this I looked, and there before me was a door standing open in heaven. And the voice I had first heard speaking to me like a trumpet said, "Come up here, and I will show you what must take place after this."

    Lovely post EarsToHear. As I was reading it I thought of my reading this morning from Galatians 2:16 which is the first mention of the word justification in this letter. The root meaning of this word is righteousness so when the Father sees us it is through Jesus Christ and just as if we had never sinned. Not unlike your glass reflecting a bright, clean image. Nothing that you didn't already know of course

    Brothers and sisters, what lovely responses...and all to His credit \0/ because He urgently nudged me to describe it before doing anything else.

    Poppycat, I love what you wrote because it shows how the Lord works through the members of His body to reveal Himself and edify each other with His Word. It hadn't come to me yesterday to post that the Father sees us as righteously as His Son, through His Son. I find it wondrous that you saw this thread, read it, and brought out that truth from your reading and precious time with God that same morning. It blessed me because while I wrestle with the flesh daily (mbrown , I share your longing to have unbroken fellowship with our Lord), I often forget that is how He sees me, regardless.

    Just as Jesus often withdrew from the crowds to spend time with the Father, I've been fortunate to spend a few days alone with Him "at the mountaintop." I want to walk with Him in my valleys with the same peace and tranquility I found on high--the abiding in Him that He described and taught. I think for me to do this better, I need to withdraw and go to Him for repair and rejuvenation much more often.

    Isn't it great, fellowship has no boundaries with the Lord and each other
