    Especially grateful today

    I have reason to be especially grateful today. After undergoing mandatory evacuation for fire danger to our community on Monday, I finally came home tonight to my untouched house. Power was also restored after an extended, fire-related outage. I praise the Lord for protecting our neighborhood and also that my Mom lives close enough that I could stay with her and wait it out. And I praise the Lord for firefighters, police, medical folks, the PG&E (power) folks, prayer warriors, emergency shelter volunteers, pet helpers, information/update disseminators and everyone else involved in helping with these fires.

    The Lord can replace valued earthly possessions which are lost

    Praise the Lord I still had a house to come home to after the fire evacuation. This is the kind of thinking that helped me get through the waiting:

    Gal 1:6-8 I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you by the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel--which is really no gospel at all.     1 Tim 4:1-2 The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons. Such teachings come through hypocritical liars, whose consciences have been seared as with a hot iron.
