But to put it all on the line I have a real problem with lust and sinful and unholy thoughts.

I will pray for you, brother! You're not alone in your struggles and I respect you greatly for having the courage to ask for prayer so specifically!!!! Ask God's forgiveness and turn away from those places. Be in the Word and fill your mind with Scripture so you'll be able to take every thought captive.

I hear you brother and I will pray for you. I too struggle with lust through pornography. Please also pray for me. I have been struggling with this a long time and seem to fall back to it just when I think I am past it. Today in my Bible reading I was reading Hebrews chapter 2. The last two verses (17-18) are good to remember 17 "Therefore, He had to be made like His brethren in all things, so that He might become a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people. 18 For since He Himself was tempted in that which He has suffered, He is able to come to the aid of those who are tempted.". We need to remember this when the temptation becomes too great. Fall on our knees and ask Him for help. I will be praying.

For me, I realized the money that was spent on these types of things, was well more invested in fancy cookbooks, and lots of specialty items to cook with. That will keep ya home in the evenings.

Then, when you plop down eat your feast, turn on the preaching channels. Most of those guys are silly, but you will come across some great ones. Personally, I like the silly ones, it's kinda like a comedy show.

I've also started studying prophecy, a bunch. Now it has become a 'hobby' per-say, but it takes you all over the Bible, and you wind up stumbling across many of the day to day things, also.

It has really changed my way of thinking.

I've been told that most Christian men struggle with these thoughts. Most non-Christian men don't bother to struggle. When the Southern Baptist Convention met in Las Vegas a few years ago the Adult Movie rental business in the hotel rooms went up. Find a mature Christian man to keep you accountable.

Praying for deliverance for you and all men from this awful addiction.

This will probably sound crazy but do you truly want delieverance and healing? Jesus asked some of those who came to him if they wanted to be healed. Seems like such an obvious answer, but not everyone wants to be healed completely of the sin that plagues them. People hold on to anger, resentment, lust, etc. for all sorts of reasons. So I guess the first step would be deciding in your heart if you truly want to be healed, or if you are just feeling guilty. Paul talked about two kinds of sorrow: worldly sorrow which leads to self condemnation and guilt, and godly sorrow which leads to repentance and forgiveness and freedom. If you examine your heart and pray and determine that you truly want deliverance, then the next steps are much easier, and you will find that Jesus has been waiting to deliver you emotionally, physically, spiritually and psychologically from this sin. The foundation for deliverance is to continually cast out of your life anything that causes you to stumble (cut out your right eye if it causes you to sin). DVDs, CDs, magazines, TV stations, the Internet, strip clubs, SI swimsuit issues, and on and on...search your heart and make a list of EVERYTHING that prevents you from attaining freedom in Christ, and then GET RID OF IT! Cast it completely out of your life. Remember Lot's wife who looked back at Sodom as it was being destroyed. She was destroyed by her unwillingness to cast Sodom out of her heart. This step is hard because it might involve ending even friendships you have with people who introduce ungodly things into your life. But Jesus is our best friend because He and only He desires what is absolutely good for us, and only He chooses us to love us totally unconditionally. If you get the to the point where you are willing to actually get rid of anything that causes you to sin, the key is to replace all of those activities you have been involved in with the LORD. Choose the fountain of living water instead of broken cisterns that can't hold any water. Find yourself accountability partners who will be honest with you and lift you up when you stumble. Stay in the word. Let the LORD lead you into new activities and directions, so you become the person He designed you to be. And most important, if you do stumble, take care to forgive your yourself and avoid any self condemnation. For there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.

Maybe it's obvious from my post, but I have been down that road. And I can tell you wholeheartedly that it's so much better on the other side, and not as difficult to get there as you might think. One resource I recommend is www.settingcaptivesfree.com. They have an online program that is absolutely free, and if you take it seriously it really works.

reading God's Word and praying daily will help to take your mind off of the sinful desires. I don't know your circumstances but my wife of 45 years takes care of me.

The battle can be difficult at times especially if the world/satan attacks or makes excuses, you deserve a break, you're only lookin'.......

better yet, spend some time on the range or riding a bike..... and be prepared as objects may appear without warning.

Remember, God has given us tools and equipped us to suceed, not surrender to lust.

I feel your pain and understand and know how Satan can take the simplest innocent thing and add sexual content to it. Example this morning i was on drudge report and was looking at this gun control page and all of the sudden a pic of ride the subway with no pants day appeared. I guess you can imagine what they were showing. I will pray for you and i personally pray daily for strength in this area because the devil knows men weaknesses. I have 6 daughters so i use this to protect myself also.
