Yes, I've been to Brussels and Belgium a long time ago. It was a pretty town with beautiful ancient buildings. We visited amongst others the Atomium, the Manneken Pis and also the Waterloo battle fields. The Belgian people were very nice and the food was very good (but expensive). It were nice holidays.
Today Brussels is Europe´s capital of crime.
EU-representatives are favored targets, because of their bountiful filled portemonnaies and their expensive smartphones and computers. Dr. Angelika Niebler, member of the European Parliament, was attacked from behind in 2009 right in the "European quarter". They pushed her to the ground and kicked her, till she let loose her handbag. An ambulance came after 40 minutes, the police didn´t appear at all.
In Brussels, Muslims are the largest religious group, comprising one-quarter of the city’s population.
In less than 20 years they’re expected to be the majority.
