    accepting what happens

last year my rabbit (see avatar) started to go blind in one eye (cataract) i prayed to the Lord last December to please spare her good eye...i could see a faint cataract forming & i prayed that it would not develop like the other one i thanked our Lord Jesus so much because the cataract didn't get worse
sadly at the end of February, 2 weeks ago i noticed that the cataract was getting bigger & whiter. i realized that BB was going blind in that eye too i was sad & cried but i didn't think that my Lord hadn't answered my prayer...because of him i'm able to keep going and accept what has happened to my beautiful girl.

i've come to understand that even when things don't go well our Lord Jesus is still our wonderful Lord & Savior no matter what!

thank you Lord for giving me your grace and peace to accept that not everything in life turns out how you want it too

Isn't it wonderful when we finally get to the point where we say, "Lord, no matter what happens to me, You are still worthy of my whole heart and all the praise I can give You.
I trust You Daddy to do what's best, even when I don't understand Your plan."

That is something to celebrate indeed!

absolutly, i feel that our Lord Jesus has been strengthening me these past few months. i know they arn't human, but my pets are very important to me - 2 in particular. Pookie was my #1 cat, i had to have him put down last November he was 12. a few months before that i found out about BB's eyesight. the last few months i've been blaming myself for what's happened to my pets and when i realized BB's 2nd eye was going i hugged her and cried.
i've been blessed with such wonderful pets

I remember you posting about the loss of Pookie in November. I know how much we grieve for our pets, it's devastating to lose them. And it's so hard to watch them age and deteriorate.

    Praying for you and bunny.

BB your words are touching and beautiful I am sorry about your gorgeous bunny and I remember you loosing Pookie. It is painful to loose a loved pet but you have learned such a valuable lesson sis. Our Lord is wonderful in every situation! He is good and worthy of our praise just for who He is and what He's done for us.! Whatever the storm, He's still the same, yesterday, today and forever!

The Bible says we are to be thankful in all things. This is a very difficult task to undertake when our hearts are broken. But, then we realize our loving Father wouldn't have asked it of us if it were not for our own good. So, when we go against the "natural" and do the "unnatural" by praising God even in our hour of grief and disappointment, we discover after a while a new new strength--an inner confidence. It speaks to our spirit: I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. Even though it hurts so much when we prayed with all our heart and still, we didn't receive the blessing we expected, we have to say, Okay Lord, it's your will and not mine that needs to be done. I will look for the blessing out of this heartache knowing you will provide a way through the suffering. God will give you the inner strength and resources to care for your precious bunny. You will be his eyes now as well as his loving provider. God bless you and know that you are loved!

    So sorry about your bunny...

She may not be able to see as well as she used to but she can still feel your love.
She has been very blessed to have you as a friend and take such good care of her.

I really wish more pet owners were like you...

    Praying for you both!!

I hope this gives you some comfort. I had a goofy, active Australian Cattle Dog who went blind. At first, I could tell she was confused and bothered...but she adapted so beautifully that I could soon tell that with her other senses heightened, she was getting along almost as well as she did when she was sighted. She could even tell when she was close to an object (I don't know how), and would veer at the last moment. A few freepers met her at the Ten Commandments Rally in Alabama. I became known as Kelly's seeing eye person. She lived out the remainder of her life, quite happily. I don't think animals face these situations in quite the way we do. They just go, "Oh. Well, okay, this is what's happening, so let's do THIS instead of THAT."

Praise God that he loves and cares for his entire creation, even down to the animals.and the beloved ones we keep as pets.my dog is aging but she is still full of life.she is getting a touch of cateracts also.her eyesight is not quite as keen as it used to be.the dog is quite a clown and makes me and my wife laugh.
once again my praises go to God for his unending love and that he looks after his children and his creation.

Big Bunny, I'm praying for BB and hoping her cataracts don't get worse.

Animals don't rely on their sight as much as we do cause their hearing and smelling is much better.

As you know Oscar the Wonder Yorkie has the beginnings of cataracts on his eyes. We're monitoring them and in two years they haven't grown. Thank you Lord.

If they do and he's still active we're gonna have surgery to fix them. But if he's not then we won't put him through it but will just take care of him and love him.

i feel now that my original post was premature and that i've been lying to myself about excepting what happens
yesterday and today i've been thinking 'should i get an operation done on BB's eye?'
2 weeks ago (before i posted) i took her to an eye specialist who said it would cost $1300 to fix both eyes but and it's a big BUT...BB could die whilst under anesthetic. my Rabbit Vet that i usually take BB too says she tries to keep bunnies under for no longer then 1 hr...the eye op will take 2hrs. i could pay out $1300 just for BB to come back to me dead.

there is another option which is the one that i keep thinking about, the eye Dr. said she would be willing to do one eye which would cut down the op time...to possibly an hour. but there's still the risk of BB dying...it breaks my heart that my gorgeous girl can't see.

i thought i'd handed this over to our Lord Jesus, but i keep taking it back

Dont be hard on yourself dear sis. We all put thinks at the foot of the cross then take them back again! Its part of our worrying nature and our need to solve the problem. Just like we can keep picking the problem up, we can also turn about and place it back down!! As soon as you feel yourself getting anxious or fearful, pray and ask the Lord to help you surrender it to Him.He knows how hard it is to lay down something you love! Its easier to make the right decisions when your not so anxious and scared. He is perfectly able to hold this for you sis, you know that.Praying for peace and comfort for you and healing for BB

(if this doesn't make sense, its because I'm sick and almost delirious but whats new eh??)

thank you for the encouraging words AllforHim i hope you get well soon...are you suffering from nausea?
i don't doubt my Lord at all and when i prayed about BB before i'd taken her to the eye doctor i had accepted what has happened to her
but now i have this option to possibly give BB back her sight in one eye and my mind keeps going back to it i'm all over the place, i don't know how Jesus puts up with me

Ask your Vet BB"s chances of coming through the surgery! Get only one eye done. see how that goes and think about the other one at a later date, Bunnies are very very hard to keep under anesthia!!! I have seen some huge miracles in the surgery room !!! There is NO way anyone can predict the outcome of any surgery, I have seen some die for no good reason, a healthy young pup in for a routine spay or even Xrays. I have seen old sick ones come through surgeries that no one thought they could survive. Pray, Pray, and get the odds before you decide, Let us all know so we can pray for you to!
