This is part of the video I saw yesterday. Louie Giglio speaks about God's greatness as evidenced by a protein in our body that holds all our cells together, called Laminin. Watch it and be amazed!

WOAH! I just posted that on another forum, nice find!

P.S. How is Louie Giglio's last name pronounced? Is it Gigg-lee-oh or Jill-ee-oh. I assume "Jill-ee-oh" is the correct Italian pronounciation.

It's Gigg-lee-oh - I worked with a lady who went to his church... That's how she pronounced it.

lol, It's funny because just last week I went to a Passion event in ATL and he kind of made a joke about his name how it is pronounce "Gigg-lee-oh" because his grandparents butchered his last name when they came to America bc the Americans couldnt pronounce it right, but it was originally pronounced "Jill-oo-oh".

Wow! This is awesome. I had my kids watch too. My 9 and 12 yr. old took notes to take to school tomorrow to share with their teachers and friends. It really made me jump for joy that they were just as excited as I was. I just started my next indepth bible study in Genesis. The first 6 seeks is on creation so I will be sharing this too.

    Well....
Laminin is actually very 'floppy' so it doesn't usually resemble a cross. Besides, a cross really isn't that uncommen a shape, it's just two lines crossing.

Besides, remember what this does for free choice. If God created life to contain laminin with the intention of showing his existence through it, that means he had allready decided that Jesus had to die on the cross, thus giving him no choice in the matter.

I think this is really just a crutch for people who don't have enough faith, just like "jesus" apearing on a tree, or piece of toast
You can see crosses everywhere if you want to, look at your floortiles for example.

    All wonderfully made?

What about the curse from adam and being made from that image?
Should i dare bring up Psalm 7, where it says God hates all who do wicked which means unless you repent

    What is your point, friend?

If you desire to say that God hates all that you say He does, then we will have a problem.
Don't panic! Just be Rapture Ready.

    Joel 3:2

I will gather all nations and bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat. There I will put them on trial for what they did to my inheritance, my people Israel, because they scattered my people among the nations and divided up my land.

I usually keep my mouth shut about stuff like this, but the science is all wrong.

Laminin is not the glue that holds everything together, collagen is.

Not to mention, there are millions of other molecules in the human body that resemble many more symbols. Potassium channels are shaped like swastikas, clathrin looks like a 20-sided die.

Not to mention, people with laminin mutations have congenital muscular dystrophy. Does this make them God-less because their laminin is not shaped the same way as normal laminin?

Science need not be not be a religious issue or a threat to faith. I've certainly never found it to be so, nor have countless others, including many (if not most) of the greatest scientific minds throughout history.

Science neither proves faith or non-faith. It isn't intended to. Science deals entirely with the workings of the physical universe and has nothing whatsoever to say about anything supernatural (including God). Any effort to mix the two does unspeakable violence to both and is doomed to fail on both counts.

Laminin is the major non-collagenous component of the basal lamina, such as those on which cells of an epithelium sit.[1] Basically, laminin is a protein found in the "extracellular matrix", the sheets of protein that form the substrate of all internal organs also called the "basement membrane". It has four arms that can bind to four other molecules. The three shorter arms are particularly good at binding to other laminin molecules, which is what makes it so great at forming sheets. The long arm is capable of binding to cells, which helps anchor the actual organs to the membrane.

The laminin protein is made up of three separate parts, called the A, B1, and B2 chains. That gives it a total of six "ends", which accounts for a lot of its flexibility in connecting up various kinds of molecules. Because of this, scientists who create biomaterials are extremely interested in the whole family of laminins. They are a family of glycoproteins that are an integral part of the structural scaffolding in almost every animal tissue. Laminins are secreted and incorporated into cell-associated extracellular matrices.

Laminin is vital to making sure overall body structures hold together. Improper production of laminin can cause muscles to form improperly, leading to a form of muscular dystrophy. It can also cause progeria.

    laminin Definition lami·nin (lam′i nin)

    noun

Biochem. a large glycoprotein that binds epithelial cells to connective tissue

Laminin, a major component of basement membranes, has numerous biological activities including promotion of cell adhesion, migration, growth, and differentiation, including neurite outgrowth. It can be used as a thin coating on tissue-culture surfaces or as a soluble additive to culture medium. Laminin has been shown in culture to stimulate neurite outgrowth, promote cell attachment, chemotaxis, and cell differentation.

That the scientific world uses the shape of a cross for the symbolism of laminin I think is pretty cool.

Jesus came to do specifically what the Father told Him to do. Jesus gave up His "free choice" for the will of the Father. re-thinking this part- - I think I said this wrong, Jesus did have His own will, only it was tuned in to the will of the Father. When He prayed in the garden, His humanity crying out, if there is another way, then take this cup from me, but He surrenders His human will to the Father and says, nevertheless, not my will, but thine be done. If He hadnt freely given up His life for ours, then His mission to earth would have failed. His mission was to die on that cross and rise again on the third day. He knew this before the time, when he cleaned out the temple and the pharisees question Him, He says, tear down this temple and in three days I will rebuild it.

I believe God already had the plan before He actually created man.

as far as crutches. . . . . you do not know me, you do not know what I have been through, and you certainly have no idea what kind of faith I have.

I praise God for all He has done in my life and in the lives of those around me. He has done marvelous things. More than I ever deserved. He is my rock, and He is the glue that holds me together. I just happen to think that the symbolic shape of Laminin is a cross, is really awesome, and just makes that scripture more real that says that by Him all things are held together.

    Psalm 139:14
I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.
