My main pregnancy complaints are if I'm hungry and wait too long to eat I start feeling sick and mega-ultra-super-sensitive-pregnancy-nose. I can smell EVERYTHING!!! Right now, the only good smell is no smell (fresh air only, please). Thankfully my cravings have mostly been in the realm of veggies. I think I would cry if I started craving meat (I'm pesce-vegitarian). Lately, for the last week or two, I've been craving lemonade. Not sure why. It's not like I don't get enough vitamin C or anything.

Ladies, I have a problem with food. Everything tastes so bland!! Because of this, I hardly have an appetite, but know I need to eat. I find myself eating sweets more and more and that is the exact opposite of what I want to do with this pregnancy. I love fruit, but everything seems to be losing its flavor and makes it so hard to eat. What to do?!

What are some snacks that are tasty and healthy. Meals that are full of flavor? I've run out of ideas.

I might try a chicken roast later if all else fails. I have spinach and broccoli in the freezer and thought about making a quiche, but I don't have a good crust recipe to use unless I just buy a frozen one. I would just love for food to get its tastefulness back!!

You know its sad when you have to have other people try your cooking before you toss it out because it tastes off to you. I'm just glad it isn't my cooking. Hubs loves my cooking hehe.

What about trying something a little spicy? Make some fresh pico de gallo out of chopped tomato, onion, cilantro, jalepeno, and lime juice. You can make it as spicy as you like, without making yourself sick. Top it on eggs, or make veggie tacos with corn tortilla, pico, black beans, cheese.

A healthy flavorful snack is to slice cucumbers, salt them (a little, not too much), put them in white or apple cider vinegar (diluted a bit with water depending on how vinegary you want it), maybe add some onion or jalepeno to the mixture, refrigerate for a while.

Carr's brand rosemary crackers have lots of flavour; so do the cracked pepper ones.

For fruit--Moro (blood) oranges may still be in season where you are; they have a tartness that regular oranges don't. Pineapple might be tasty, too.

Make blueberry muffins, but instead of using canned blueberries, load up with fresh or frozen ones. Adds lots more flavor.

Use fresh spices! Make a healthy veggie dip out of plain lowfat yogurt mixed with dill, a little mint, splash olive oil, shredded cucumber.

Because this baby seems to think I should eat frequently otherwise I start feeling sick, I have made a trail mix, of sorts, and keep it on my desk at work. I mixed together mixed nuts (heavy on the cashews haha) raisins and M&M's. That's what I do, but I'm now in my 2nd trimester and my apetite has returned where in my 1st trimester I had to fight with myself to eat. I like Rebekah's suggestions, and they're all vegitarian, too.

Great suggestions so far. I forgot to mention that I suffer from acid reflux, so I have to try to eat spicy only in moderation. I love to eat cucumbers in vinegar, but for some reason don't do it as often as I used to lol.

I'm in my 2nd trimester as well and it seems like I had a better appetite in my 1st than I do now. I don't have much morning sickness if at all.

I have thought about making my own trail mix, so I guess that is what I am going to do. Many things are coming to mind, but unfortunately, I don't have the funds to make a lot of the things that I want to hehehe.

I, too, had to eat frequently when I was pregnant or I would feel so nauseous. I had to constantly have something in my stomach. This lasted the whole 9 months. My co-workers would always make fun of me because I'd always bring out yogurt, or fruit, or something to the nurses station. Haha. That's how I gained 65 lbs, I imagine. But now I forget to eat and could probably go all day without eating! Weird...

I am currently 10 weeks pregnant, due october 28th. I have a little girl who is almost 2. I had a miscarriage in december and got pregnant after only one cycle, so I am pretty nervous, but things seem to be going well so far. I have been having pretty bad morning sickness, and I've been tired, but I just keep telling myself that these are signs that the baby is healthy, and doing ok. I am looking forward to the 2nd trimester, and hopefully not having such a rough time haha.

Congrats WatchingforJesus & Antsinmypants!! New life is always so exciting!!

So I'm feeling very unsure of myself. I know I am definitely pregnant b/c I took another test yesterday & the test line was waaaaaaaaay darker than the control line, but I just don't feel pregnant! It's so crazy. Plus, before I knew I was pregnant, I was training to run a 5K & I've talked to many people AND a nurse at my OB's office who said it was fine to continue running, I just am not sure!! I am so nervous that it could hurt the baby & I don't want to do anything to put this pregnancy in jeopardy. So if you could or if you think of it, please pray for me & the baby! Pray that I will have confidence in the choices I make & that I will finally feel pregnant soon Thank you ladies! *hugs*

I will pray for you! I didn't feel pregnant for awhile with my first either, no morning sickness, hardly tired, I breezed through the whole pregnancy (except for having gestational diabetes), and I was always worried because things seemed "too easy" haha. I am sure everything will be fine :0)

My first was a breeze until the end really.

This one is giving a run for the money right now. I have an RX for nausea meds which I have had to take twice today. ugh!

    We're 8 weeks along, due Nov 15

I know what you mean about being afraid of hurting the baby. Although the doctor said I can continue, I stopped taking my karate classes until after the baby is born, which will be in July. I waited 36 years for this and I'm not about to take any chances.

I have been so tired, and sooo nauseous this time, last time I had it sooo easy, I was not sick at all. a couple days ago, I finally had a really good day, and thought that maybe I was done with morning sickness. the next day, everything was back to normal haha. at least I had one good day, and I only have a couple weeks until (supposedly) morning sickness is supposed to clear up.

Excuses my intrusion on this reserved for moms to be but I know a mom
to be is having morning sickness through the day and she finds eating
vanilla yogurt and white rice are helping.

had appointment today (11 weeks). they tried to find heartbeat with doppler, but couldn't, so I had another ultrasound (they found the heartbeat!) the doctor said that there is a very low risk of me having a miscarriage now. after having a miscarriage with my last baby, this is a huge relief. and, I have been feeling baby move! which is crazy because its early, but the doctor said that it is possible, and I know its not gas, because I know what it felt like when I felt my first one move. This baby must be strong haha.
