So I went for my first u/s today and discovered that I am probably not as far along as originally thought. According to my LMP (March 28), I would be 8 weeks today. However, when we did the vaginal u/s, there was a heartbeat and we did see the baby, but the baby was measuring around 5 weeks and 5 days.

I was breastfeeding when I got pregnant, and the period in March was my first post-partum period. Is there a possibility that I ovulated a lot later than calculated? This is making me so nervous. They said the heartbeat sounded ok for its measurement, but what am I supposed to think? One of two things is going on. The nurse said its either not growing like it should or due to my breastfeeding, I ovulated a lot later than thought. Thoughts? Experiences? I pray for the latter, but its all in God's hands.

*Also, the heartbeat was 107 and 109 at point. They said that is normal for its gestation age, but that still doesn't make me feel better.*

I would say breastfeeding. That in and of it's self can mess up a womans cycle.
all goes well for you and little bean.

hello!! Well I had my first appt. yesterday and feel good about it. We were able to find hte heartbeat with Doppler so that was cool. My official due date is definately December 25th. Should be a fun Christmas!!

I won't be able to do a water birth here, because the hospital doesn't provide tubs,
    but oh well.....

As for my water birth with the second child, guess there isn't alot to tell. I woke up with contractions around 3:30 am, and labored at home for a good 2 hrs. But when I threw up my light breakfast, I knew we needed to move as I was likely heading into transition.....
We got the hospital (only about 5 minutes away) and got settled. The midwife checked me and started filling the tub right away and called for a baby cart. The tub was a big tub that was open on 3 sides. It was great because they filled it w/ warm water, but then had a hand sprayer they used to run cool water over me as i started getting over-heated. They also had a big pillow to put behind me to get me closer so I could plant my feet on the other end of the tub for traction. What was great, was when I needed to change position, like rolling to my side, I just floated over, instead of hauling my big old body around on a bed. Anywho, about an hour after getting to the hospital, I pushed a few times and out slid little boy number 2!
Another advantage to the water, was after the birth, being rinsed off right there in the tub and being all clean and cozy getting into bed to cuddle baby. It was great.

I was plannning on having a tub birth at the birthing center with my 3rd, but when we got there, she didn't think there'd be enough time to fill the tub. However she ended up being wrong, as my cervix wouldn't completely melt away. It was an hour of excrutiating pain as my body wanted to push, but I wasn't "allowed" because of the cervix being in the way. Finally the midwife, manually pushed the cervix out of the way as I pushed out baby and we were finally able to deliver him..... it's taken me awhile to get over that birth.....
Now, I just hope the Lord blesses me with an easier time this time around!!

Well... Not too much to tell here yet. I've been going regularly to the doctor this week as we expected the baby to arrive sometime this week.. and he's given us some labor pains yesterday rather regularly and then decided to back off completely and sleep. Today, not so many contractions, but he is all the way engaged (you can tell looking at me), though there hasn't been much indication yet that he is on his way.

My DH told him yesterday that he cannot come today, and I think he's listening too well. I told him when he gets home, he and baby boy need another talk -- and he has to be allowed to come. I really do not want another doctor visit tomorrow morning, I want a baby in my arms

Have you tried walking? They say that walking really stimulates the labor process.

That's a wives tale. What it really does is tellt he doctor if you are in real labor or not. If you change your action while having contractions and they stop or slow down you are most likely in labor. In other words, if you are sitting still and have contractions and then get up and start moving around and they increase you need to go to the hospital. However, if you get up and move around and they stop then it was false labor. Plus, it gives you something to do so you don't hound the nurses all the time.

unfortunately, I do walk.. every day. LOL
And I've been cooking every day and doing some (not all) of the housework.

I'm not walking as much as I did before, but I am walking. I go every day for a CTG at the dr's since I am "overdue"... and that requires my MIL driving me over and then walking about a block to get there, and then back. Depending on how I feel (It has been really hot and humid since Tuesday), My DH and I will go on a walk around 9pm before the sun goes completely down for maybe 30 minutes.. but I had almost no contractions when we were doing that.

Cooking tonight, that was a different story.. that was pretty active stuff, but then it shut back down again. :/

We asked the dr when to 'go', and he said when we monitor for 30 minutes at 10 minutes apart or closer, and I take a cool bath and they continue.. OR we continue monitoring for 30 more minutes and they intensify/get closer together ... OR my water breaks.

Thus far.. nothing close to that since last night.

it'll happen. I was a week late with 2 of my three. It gets soooo hard to wait... but you'll know when the real thing happens, no worries there. Guess you've just made a really comfortable home for him and he doesn't want to be evicted yet!! LOL ....
I promise though, you won't stay pregnant forever, even though it feels like it....
Don't know how you and hubby feel about this, but it wouldn't hurt to have "relations" His contribution helps ripen the cervix,
and if you get a good "reaction" that helps with oxytoxin and contractions.... Plus we always figured we needed to take every opportunity before going on haitus for 4-6 weeks!!

My midwife asked me if I wanted her to write a prescription for “relations” when I told her he was scared about that. We have never laughed so hard over something in our entire life, but I will say….it works! Just don’t get up right away and give time for it to work. LOL

everyone doing ok? Im feeling on the upswing, overall. or perhaps Ive just learned how to not quite overdue it. I basically do what I can in the AM and then rest for the afternoon. This is helping me get through the day alot better.
Well hope you're all doing ok.

Still fighting the all day nausea and vomiting However, with each passing day I remind myself I'm getting closer to the end...why is it when you're waiting time seems to pass so much slower?

By the way, does anyone else have bumps all over their chest and shoulders? They're not pimples...just bumps. I had it with my first and it's come back again. I've been putting witch hazel on them but it seems I'll have to wait it out.

My 2nd U/S is today. Ya'll keep me and this baby in your prayers. I am around 7 weeks and 4 days today..I think lol.

I also have a question, does anyone itch all the time? Like in random places on your body? I think that I might be having an allergy because it seems that since I started using this certain fabric softener, I have been itching like crazy! Or, it could just be dry skin? Ugh, its so irritating whatever it is.

actually I think the itching is a somewhat common issue in pregnancy. your skin does change w/ the hormones and may get more oily or more dry and itchy
change the fabric softener first though and see what happens....

on another note, I spoke too soon as I feel aweful today!!

I'll be praying for ya w/ the ultrasound!

Doesn't matter, I don't have good news right now. I am trying to be strong, but its kind of hard right now. Baby was measuring 6w1d and they said they couldn't find any cardiac activity. They want me to come back in another week to do another u/s. The nurse said they don't want to jump to conclusions, so they just want to make sure.

You know, this really hurts having to carry it for this long. What a blessing!!

I'll be seeing you all later. God bless!

I'm having the all day nausea and vomiting, too. It's horrible! The Zofran my doc put me on has helped alot, but I still throwup so I can only imagine how I'd be without it...

I have bumps everywhere, too! I know that with pregnancy comes alot of skin changes. I have bumps on my face along my hairline (only a couple of them are pimples) and I have bumps ALL OVER my chest and shoulders. They're so annoying, and I hope they go away soon...

I've also been having REALLY bad constipation. I am taking 2 Phillips capsules a day and it does not seem to be helping at all. Anyone have any advice for this????

hilhill, I used to snack on prunes all day, and put lots of raisins on my cereal in the morning.

Bride - I'll keep praying for you. We'll pray for a miracle and that this baby ends up being fine and strong! If that's not His will, then I will pray for His Grace and peace to be upon you and the family.

Antsy had her baby Sunday night. It was a rough time for Antsy and Bellybean. We mothers got to be in the delivery room with Antsy and her hubby. We thought that we had lost Bellybean for a short while there, but after a few days of false labor starting and stopping, and 17 hours of active labor....Bellybean arrived with a black head..........when the rest of him was born, he pinked right up and is doing great.

He was almost 9 pounds and is about 21 or 22 inches long.......This little fella has 4 inch long feet!

Antsy is having a little trouble with bleeding. It is better today. She has another ultrasound tomorrow to see if there is anymore hemorraghing. We are all exhausted. Antsy might get to come home on Friday if things continue to improve.

I had lots of kisses from the Little Man today. He has strawberry blonde hair and tastes really good!
