Who feels in ten years things will be the same

Hopefully in ten years the homeschooling movement (and private schools) will have surpassed the public schooling system, vouchers will be available, Roe v Wade will have been overturned, the Iraq War will be over, taxes will have been reduced substantially, we'll be drilling in ANWR and off our coast for oil, new energy technology will be made available and alternate sources or energy for our cars will be around, the revival in China will have taken that country towards a more democratic government, Osama will have been captured, and the Dallas Cowboys will be on the verge of winning their 10th consecutive Super Bowl.

We know because of the current signs that we are in the last days that the bible speaks off. And we know that things progressively get worse because that's the nature of the degredation of sin...so unfortunately if we are still here, pre-rapture, it is going to be ugly.

Are you suggesting that things have been getting progressively worse for 6,000 years due to sin?
As for signs, which ones are you talking about? Sometimes I'm not so sure the signs we think we see are actualy signs the Bible talks about.

The way things are happening so fast, I believe it may only be a matter of a couple of years (heres hoping! )

Well, we are approaching seven years since that awful day.

I have no predictions. I believe the birth pangs will be much more severe natural disasters than we have been witnessing lately.

All that I know is that with each day that passes, we are one day closer to that great day.

Wow, what an excellent thread.

I think we Christians are on the verge of some major testing if the Lord doesn't come soon. Legislation is in the works that will make it illegal to express biblical truth in any form. It may be closer than we think.

So I fully expect to be jailed for my faith at some point in the next decade IF the Trumpet has not called us home beforehand. Since 1998 I've been on many message boards discussing the Rapture -- we all want some hint of "WHEN?!" but only God knows what will happen next.

As I await our glorious translation {which I still believe is very soon } I thank Him for the incredible peace that grows stronger as this world grows darker.

If we are here another ten years and the rapture has not happened yet. I see us having faced or facing World War III, another great depression, more natural disasters, and a push to legalize insist marriages and possibly having multiple spouses. Self defense will be against the law. Drugs will be on the verge of being legal along with prostitution. Freedom of speech will be a thing of the past. We will have curfews for everyone due to terrorism. Pornography will be more accepted on live television. Thats just a few of what I see we are headed toward.

I believe the U.S. will have suffered many natural disasters. I believe the EU will be the dominant voice in the world. They will try to force their will on many but Russia and China will give them firm opposition on many topics. If you look beneath the surface Russia and China will actually not be the evil entities that people in the West like to portray them as. The EU will be the true evil and not true to their word but it will be downplayed due to well organized propaganda. Israel will have been victorious in a major war over Iran,Syria,and several other in which nukes were utilized. Israel will have suffered major population losses but will have gained much ground from the war, however, much of it will be wasteland. The EU under its charismatic new leader will have been successful in bringing peace to the region for a time and even allowing Israel to keep some of its new land as long as EU armies are allowed to enter the area to help maintain the new peace accord. The EU will have backstabbed them and practically enslaves what is left of the Jewish population and seizes control of much of the oil in the region. He attempts to use this as a bargaining tool against Russia because the Russians will have threatened to cut off the flow of natural gas to Europe due to earlier threats against Russia for not complying to many of the EU's demands. Russia and China mobilize for war. The word gets back to the leader of the EU and he confronts them in a preemptive strike. Russia pushes the EU armies in Europe back to Rome and Berlin. China heads for the Mid east with a massive army. A large part of the army is hit by nukes and slows China down.EU convinces many nations that the evil Russians and Chinese are attempting to take over the world's oil supplies and many mobilize and come to the Mid east to help the EU. Russia having won against the EU's units in Europe will feel as though they are forced to go to Israel to battle what is left of the EU's armies and its allies after seeing the Chinese armies hit with tactical nukes. Many natural disasters begin to happen destroying the majority of the Russian army after reaching the mountains in Israel. What is left helps reinforce a still large Chinese/Asian army heading for the region. Suddenly the heavens open up and you know the rest of the story..............

Not trying to set a date just a question who here feels we will be here ten years from now. Me personally I thought summer of 2006 would be my last. God is perfect in all he does.

Ten years????? I am having trouble seeing past ten days. The timing of the rapture is up to God the Father and Him alone, but my own sense of the nearness is that we are in the last minutes of the last days.

I agree with this. There comes a point when sin has made such a mess of this world that it feels like we'll "spontaneously combust" from the wickedness of it all. One of the consequences of disobedience is that it leads to self-destruction. Jesus wants all of us to recognize our absolute need for a Savior.

I want to go now - today - right this minute would be perfect for me. I'll work here as long as the Lord wants me to, but I'm doing what Paul told us to do in Colossians 3:1-2 -

"Therefore if you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth."

My best guess is 1-5 years. When the 44th president (probably Hillary Clinton) takes office look for him/her and congress to push all sorts of bad legislation upon us. The US and most of the world will become like Sodom and Gomorroh.
