    Default Aromatherapy?

Forgive me if this has been covered over and oer again but I'm worried. I have used aromatherapy oils for years to treat or help treat many different things from nappy rash to insomnia and fleas (in cats)! Is this considered occult? Please help!

only if you expect the the oils to conjure a healing deity.

i wouldn't worry about it too much.

Thanks Icebear this really worried me. I did dabble in the mother earth thing for a short time but now I use the oils as any one else would use everyday first aid.

Remember, even in Jesus' time, certain oils were used for medicinal purposes. I love taking a bath using lavendar oil....so soothing! And of course we always keep an Aloe Vera plant on hand for sunburn and mosquito bites. Nothing better!

I'm never without Lavender oil. Nappy/diaper rash, sunburn, scalds. Thankyou!!! Feeling better now.
    My Aloe Vera plant: RIP.

lol, poor aloe! i need to get another one myself... i killed mine from neglect a few years ago.... takes a lotta neglect to knock off an aloe

i love my tea tree oil, not really for aroma, but i'd go pizza face for a week each month without it.

i used incense ceremonially when i practiced wicca, but now i am able to use it purely as air freshener... better than anything Glade can come up with IMHO

I use oils as well - because they smell nice and are great for certain conditions.
I don't think there is anything wrong with it as long as you don't believe in the "airy fairy" side of aromatherapy.
Besides - Didn't God create all these wonderfull herbs etc for our use?? That is what I have always thought. He wouldn't have put them on earth if they weren't meant to be used

A lot of modern medicines came from various plant extracts, so i see nothing wrong with going back to the original.

I lost my olfactory sense at aged 9 due to a bout with pneumonia. I don't have to worry about the "aromatherapy devils" getting me!

Thanks for bringing this up. I was once involved in the new age and occult and now anything having to do with that - even herbs and oils - has got me kinda spooked. My sister is still deep into that and gave me some oil concoction she made for me to rub on my feet to help me sleep. I haven't used it because I just - don't want to go back there.
But you guys are right. There were healing oils in Jesus' time and modern medicine often uses plants in some form so why not use the originals - if you know what you're doing.
I like tea tree oil, too. It is really good for athlete's foot. It was the only thing that worked for me and haven't had it again since and it's been years.
    Thanks again...

Herbs, oils, massage. They are all good, as long as you don't buy into the stuff attached to them. The wife and I have used them for years and she has started getting the nickname "witchdoctor".

Not to worry. Mary anointed Jesus' feet with oil of spikenard, which is in the valerian family and helps with relaxation. It was used as one of the Eleven Herbs for the incense in the Holy Temple in Jerusalem and is mentioned twice in the Song of Solomon. Frankincense and myrrh, derived other aromatic herbs, were king's gifts to the baby Jesus. All good, all gifts of god.

God indeed! Not the esoteric, metaphysical concept or thought of mythology. Modern mysticism and new ageism has corrupted what God has created and made them objects of worship and adoration, in place of God.

Nothing new, it is the same lie that has been around since man first drew breath. We can't become partakers in godness, but that doesn't stop people from believing we can.

1 Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said to the woman, “Has God indeed said, ‘You shall not eat of every tree of the garden’?”
2 And the woman said to the serpent, “We may eat the fruit of the trees of the garden; 3 but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said, ‘You shall not eat it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die.’”
4 Then the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. 5 For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”
6 So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate.
New lies still have the same old author.
There is One King, and He is not this guy.

I can't remember who it was ....either Hootmon or McMann that had something aromatherapy interesting. I think they were multi-leveling it. I think..it comes with burritos.
