    Default Wii anyone?

Does anyone have a Wii? My son currently has a Gamecube, and while it's been fun for them, I'm interested in upgrading to the Wii....any input guys?

awesome system. and it plays gamecube games so it is a great upgrade. the only problem is that most games right now are either ports or mini game based. A couple good games to get is the Sonic one, Super Paper Mario, and The Legend of Zelda.

My bro has this. I like going over there to bowl on occasion, but it seems more of a party system than something I'd want to have collecting dust at hour house (since we rarely party).

We have one and it's a lot of fun. All gamecube games play on it, and if you have a wireless router, you can buy and download many of the old NES games as well. All your faves! Plus, I find the Wii Sports gives me a workout; also Wario Ware. Anyone who comes into our home is invited to make a Mii of themselves( you make a person to look like yourself which actually plays the games). This has been like our official guest book, so far. We'll be playing with the kids and we'll comment, "Oh look! Shawn is watching us", or "Mark is on our baseball team!" Great fun all round!

We have one and totally enjoy it. I can't understand how folks are having issues with the Wii-motes... you'd have to be treating them pretty bad to put one through a TV or break the wrist restraints.
We've got the new Zelda game.. dh has logged more than 100 hours on it. :p My grandma totally digs the Bowling on Wii Sports, as do I.

We have one! Beware if you have Zelda though-- theres a pretty awful glitch in one part. Apparently if you save and quit in the cannon room (you'll know it when you're there, its a big room with a huge cannon in it) you'll get stuck in there. Of course, we didn't know it was a huge glitch until my husband got stuck in there and I was googling around to try to find a way out. We actually have to call nintendo and have them ship us a new disk after we send our defective disk to them.

Other than that we love our Wii, especially Wii sports!

We'll see about that. Search for game hardware sales as well as software sales and you'll see PS3 taking a huge beating from 360 and Wii right now. The problem with this, as it concerns gamers, is that if hardware sales aren't that great, game developers won't want to put as much money into developing games for the system. And the cycle could eventually look like this:

Low hardware sales --> low number of system owners --> smaller market to sell to on the system --> less reason to put a game on the system --> low number of game developers putting games on the system --> low number of games on the system --> less reason to buy the system --> low hardware sales

And it repeats. This is what hurt the support for Gamecube and Xbox last time around (why they were each outsold by about 100 million, and why the PS2 had thousands more games than them), and a similar situation might be brewing for PS3.

    I have a Wii.

It's a wonderful console. So far, the games I've purchased are: The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Super Paper Mario, Wario Ware: Smooth Moves, Elebits, Sonic and the Secret Rings, and Super Monkeyball: Banana Blitz.

There's no way I'd pay 600 bucks for a PS3. It's losing exclusives left and right. Sony made a big mistake by forcing Blu-Ray on its customers.

no way I could spend 600 bucks for any playstation considering how the past 2 have had such screwy lasers in the drives and you would end up buying 2 or 3 playstations over the course of the system's life. I have 3 playstation 1's sitting somewhere in my room. none work. 2 playstation 2's. one works.

I have a Wii and totally love it. ^_^ So far I only have LOZ:TP, Wii Sports, and my friend's ExciteTruck. It's a great kid-to-adult console, and like I heard mentioned by someone else on here, it's a great party console.

I really want one for some Wii fun shenanigans of tennis, but alas.. I just can't break down and spend that much for what is essentially a prettier version of "Pong" lol
