I read that years and years ago (back in the 1970's). I attended an Ernest Angley crusade with my mom & our neighbor in St. Louis. I must have picked up a copy of "Raptured" there. That was the first time I had ever heard about the Rapture. I don't remember too much about the book now though.
I'll be gone when the trumpet sounds,
Ain't nothing gonna hold me down!
- Decemberadio, "Believer"
I own that book, and I've read it. I've also read 666/1000, by Salem Kirban (how many of you remember that one?), the Left Behind series, Blood Moon, by Hal Lindsey, and other end-time novels.
I just finished reading it. It was very intense. Thank you Lord, we won't be here to experience those things. The book went into the torture of people who refuse to take the Mark. People who knew they missed the rapture but were not going to accept the Mark. They couldn't buy gas, groceries, recieve medical attention, NOTHING without displaying the Mark on their hand or forehead. The faithful held out but were tortured horribly. Burned at the stake. Thrown into a pit of snakes or the lions den. Hands cut off, feet, eyes gouged out thrown into a boiling vat, while others were forced to watch, tinking it would change their minds. They were thrown in prison and tortured. If they didn't renounce their Faith and bow to the Beast, they were put to death. Not a quick death, a slow tortureous one. I'm saved and it was uncomfortable for me to read such horrors. To think the copyright is 1950. It did go over and over how the Lord was coming.Be ready. People laughed it off. They couldn't believe it would happen anytime soon. They had plenty of time to get right with the Lord. They woke up to find their saved loved ones gone. The young children and babies, gone. It was chaos.
Pray for your lost loved ones.

I read that book when I was in 6th grade at a Baptist School. Our 4th grade teacher was the one who told us about the rapture. Until then I never heard of it (or that you had to be saved to go to heaven - people always just told me to "be good"). It scared me senseless at the time, but I'm glad I read it so those seeds were planted in my mind, since most people I know outside church either don't believe in the rapture or believe it is after the tribulation (as in "don't be thinking you're gonna get away so easily")
Yes I read that book many years ago. Good book. Nutty author though. But that is a very good book. I still have it somewhere. Think I'll look for it and read it again.![]()

I read the book so many years ago that I can't even remember when it was! And yes, it left an impression on me. I gave my heart to Jesus years ago and since then have read the book a few more times. The book is scary but now I realize that what is described in the book after rapture is mild as to what will happen to people left behind. I have ordered the book by the dozen to send to people anonymously over the years. It is easy to read and a person can get through it in a short time. I recently went to order some of these books again and found out that it is no longer in print. Such a bummer. Does anyone have any suggestions as to another book like this one?
