Default Does Christ ever reference the Apocrypha?

I read a comment on another board where it was said that the Jewish tradition of Hanukkah came from Macabees. They also said that Jesus observed Hannukkah. They sited Hebrews and Jude as New Testement confirmation.

    I have never heard this.

Yes, Hanukkah is the celebration of the miracle of the oil keeping the lamp lit for 8 days until more oil could be made. They thought they only had enough oil for one day, but decided to burn it as long as it would last and make more in the mean time, it ended up lasting 8 days. This was after the Macabean revolt of 165 BC. It was celebrated by Jesus in the NT, I thought it was called the "Festival of Lights" but didn't find that in scripture, I'll find the verses and post. The references in the NT of apocrpha books was not a stamp of approval of them, or their validity. There are OT references to extra Biblcal books also, but they are not "scripture", they were historical records that were kept. Josephus is such a book.

I remember something in Esdras about the 'straight and narrow way,' but it's been years since I read the Apocrypha.

Jesus celebrating "Hannukah/Feast of Lights/Feast of Dedication" in the NT:

Jhn 10:22 ¶ And it was at Jerusalem the feast of the dedication, and it was winter.
