I quit in early 2010, and after 2 years, I started struggling with this again
A lot of changes going on in my life (not exactly bad ones just a lot of uprooting)
I keep thinking it's gonna relieve some of my periodic stress
but I know that's a lie, it will just make me want to rely on it more and more

I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of the wicked.

10 months ago.....
10 months ago I had an attack of whooping cough......gave up the cigarettes....and it is 10 months I have none.....I was on a 20/25 a day.....
I give glory to God in Jesus.....
I also want to thank Him to have inspired so many people to pray for me ,my wife,my kids,and also you in the Forum.....

I still smoke at the moment but am wanting to give up. I've stopped a few times in the past - last time was the longest - but then I unfortunately fell into the wrong company and started again.
Next week, Lord willing, I am going to try a nicotine inhalator. I will keep you all posted of my progress for as long as we're still here. Wish me luck

I would like to encourage all of us to spend extra time in prayer and
reading the Bible.
Use your idle time in praying for victory nicotine and reading and memorize
Bible verses.

It is NOT a sin to be tempted... only to YIELD to it!
Do we really believe that God can help us every time we are tempted?

Hi all,
Got some nicotine chewing gum at the weekend (was originally going to get an inhalator/false cigarette pack, but opted for this instead). Smoked a few of my left-over cigarettes from the previous week on Saturday and Sunday.
As of today, Monday 30th, I have not smoked any cigarettes and also thrown my lighters, ashtray and the cigarettes I had left away, leaving just the chewing gum for me to rely on for nicotine. I have not used any chewing gum today but may do tomorrow. I am absolutely determined to give up smoking this time for good, please pray that I do it and never go back. God bless all the ex-smokers on here who have given up for good and may He help everyone else who is trying.

Last Monday 30th I was going to use the nicotine chewing gum but decided not to. I have not used them at all since then, nor have I smoked any cigarettes. So far I have been completely cigarette and nicotine-free since Sunday and am now not going to bother with the chewing gum at all and throw it away. Today is day 6 for me. I know it's only early days but I know with Christ's help I can do it. Will post my latest progress again this time next week.
