Just a thought

We have watched many of you struggle and struggle and finally get the victory with
the Lord's help. But some are still struggling and I would encourage each one of you to never give up! Some are needing some medical help from your doctor and please don't shy away from this source. God has a special plan for each of us and He can use different methods to give freedom over nicotine!

I just passed my 5 year smoke-free mark! Amazing.

I could take the credit but truthfully I could never quit a 38 year habit on my own. This was my prayer:

Lord the truth is I am too weak to quit. I don't even want to quit deep down. I need YOU to do this for me, you're the only One who can because I know that I can't. I'm weak, you're strong. I just need you to get me through it a day at a time. Strengthen my will and help me to keep from smoking.

I did use a patch for a few weeks which helped some and I did cry alot, but somehow I did what I never believed I could- nor did anyone who knows me- they know I was a severe addict and I loved those darn things. That had to be God in me who broke that addiction. That is the only thing that worked for me. I gave in to the fact it would be hard [miserable] for a while and just let God get me through one minute, one day, one week, month and now year at a time. And I did get to the point where I have NO desire to ever pick up another cigarette. Not just because I don't want to go through quitting again but because they do not even appeal to me any more- at all.

WITH GOD ALL THINGS ARE NOT ONLY POSSIBLE, THEY CAN BE DONE! You just have to allow him to work and be willing to go through the 'pain' of quitting.
Praying for all of you who struggle- I can so relate. But us praying for you is not enough. You have to give it to God, let yourself accept the consequences you will endure and then trust God to pull you through. He will!

I quit smoking for 7 years, and picked them back up after my divorce stupidest thing i could have ever done, but im sure im not the only one! Please pray as I try to quit, I reallly need to have the desire took away because I enjoy smoking and dont know how to quit this time...I need to for my heallth....thanks

I am so sorry that I was not here yesterday to rejoice and pray for you all because
I had a fall that sent me to the ER room. I am home fine but have some sore muscles in my neck and a black eye.
Yesterday I was running ( I know at 66 years old I should have been walking) but I was late to the church's first service. But, I was really late because I had forgotten about
daylight saving time.
Please be patient with me or if one of you fine posters would like to up-date the prayer/praise list and our special winners list, I would appreciate it since I am having a difficult time since I cannot wear my eyes at this time. And my eye is almost swollen shuct
