Hey! One game I've been enjoying to play for awhile is The Lord of the Rings: Online. I believe there is a christian kinship on it, but I haven't joined it yet since I'm not in the same "world" as them. Anyways, I would recommend it as it has a little bit of everything in it.

Not quite. more of a cross between sim city and age of empires if you were to try to pigeon hole the type of game it is. but that doesn't do the civ games adaquete justice. If you wanted to totally rock a series though what i would do is pick up the Command and Conquer 10 year anniversary edition and then get C&C 3. that is startegy game goodness very similar to age of empires. another good game set to get is Starcraft and Starcraft Broodwars. especially with Starcraft 2 coming out in a year or two. now the only game out of that that will give your new system a good run is C&C3.

Age of Empires III -I think- Is an awesome Game, I still enjoy this day building my little samurai army and charging the enemy castle with it.

Starcraft is pretty cool, I'm looking forward to the second one coming out, hoping it's as good as the first and expansion.

Ceasar III is pretty fun, all be it it's designed on what Rome/greeks where (you have to build temples to gods and such, so I don't know if that's entirely appropriate or not...) You can build a city in it, you have to keep the people happy by providing entertainment, food, protection, and health, you can follow a sorta story line in it which helps you get a handle on the game, or you can play pre-created maps, each with their own difficulty and size. (some contain times when your city is under siege while other maps are just simple build and expand) Warning this game is most time consuming, so be prepared to have a time limit and an alarm go off, cause it's most easy to spend 5 hours on one map and not even notice it.

As for games that challenge a PC power...um I really couldn't tell you, I've been out of the gaming loop to long. I'd suggest WOW or LOTR's, how ever WoW is a so-so one, it would test your computer, but I'm not sure of it's content, same goes for LOTR'S -I've played WoW, but not LOTR's-

    Hope that helped

    Maybe Today

Trust in the LORD with all your heart,
    And lean not on your own understanding;

In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall direct your paths

My computer just can't play most modern games, so I mostly play on my Nintendo DS. Especially since it has so many online games now. There are lots of strategy games out & coming soon, so I still get a lot of similar games.

I'm going to get Age of Empires now that it's only $15. Anno looks good too, but it's a Europe-exclusive, but I'm going to track it down. I'm really happy that we're getting Front Mission 1st in the USA as well.

Brothers in Arms worked really well on the DS, so I'll grab Call of Duty when it ships too.

    Default Best Games

Well for me... HalfLife is the very best single player game out there. I think LoTr by Turbine is probably the very best online social game. SecondLife is kinda cool if you like making things and chatting. SecondLife also has very cool real-life concerts scheduled every night.

It's gotta be the Total War series.

Latest version is Medieval 2 Total war. Stunning mix of real time battle, and epic strategy on a huge map.

Play a Christian nation and lead a crusade to the Holy land

If anyone strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also; and if anyone would sue you and take your coat, let him have your cloak as well; and if anyone forces you to go one mile, go with him two miles.

You think the crusades were Holy?

Love total war but i wouldn't go that far.
Rome total war, if you haven't played it, is one of the best games of all time over any console and you'll learn about history while playing it. I've probably logged as many hours in RTW as i have in any multiplayer game. Halflife 2 and those are fantastic but they just haven't got the same replay value as Rome. Also Rome can still bring even a new SLI system to it's knees.

Here's a sample of what you can expect.

just installed a game called Overlord. You play the bad guy and it pokes fun at a lot of the "evil overlord" cliches that you find in fantasy stuff like LOTR. it's kind of a cross between the old Dungeon Keeper games (humor wise), Pikmin (for gamecube), and Fable (graphically). not quite strategy or war but definitely fun and will tax your system.

    dude, it's just a game

Never said the Crusades were holy, but it was nice to march into Jerusalem under a cross and knock down the Mosque and build a church

Funny I had a very very different feeling. When i saw Jerusalem on the map i became fairly hesitant even though i knew it was filled with evil...er...AI. I had to remind myself it was just a game.

Ah lets see… I’m playing a few right now, mainly older games. I still play Battlefield1942, working through the original Medal of Honor and expansions again, working through a CivIII game and it’s a very long one this time, play Anarchy Online once or twice a week for a bit, also World War II online is pretty good but I just went inactive on my subscription recently for a bit. Ones I’m waiting for are Pirates of the Burning Sea and Star Trek Online.

I don’t play WoW or LotRO even though mmorpg is by far my favorite genre. I did play LotRO beta from closed beta to open beta but I started with not knowing that they finally did add a magic casting class. Originally, when I was closely following development a couple years ago they were not going to add a magic class, but I’ve been so incredibly busy working on developing my own game that I lost track of changes to LotRO.

I was pretty disappointed when I logged into LotRO beta and saw some type of wizard/mage class shooting fire balls from their rear-ends. I already knew what was in WoW so passed it up from the beginning. I’m just turned off by the Occult obsession our society has embraced with a fervor. I used to play those games for entertainment, like EQ, UO, Diablo/D2, Baldur’s Gate, Elder Scrolls etc.. but stopped playing them though I really get tempted to play them again like with any worldly thing that tends to try to compel us into things that we probably should not mess with or give the impression to others that it’s perfectly ok to do… which must be in the least, questionable.

I miss the old EQ servers a lot though, sadly, EQ and UO must have been my two most played games ever. But you know, put something down that you shouldn’t be fooling with and it may be replaced with something far better. Yeah, that’s something that holds true
