how do i post a log file?

1. Run the HijackThis program (Clicky to download)
2. Click the "Do a system scan and save a logfile" button
3. Let it scan
4. A word document/notepad should pop up with the results
5. Copy and paste the results here

Here's the three main brands.

1. AVG antivirus free - most up-to-date protection, automatic updates, best protection coverage. This needs to updated frequently. Mostly it does automatic updates but when a new version comes out, it's recommended that you install it.

2. I forgot what this one was but it was used more in big office computers which have to visit many sites on a daily basis.

3. Norton Antivirus ranks at the bottom of the the three main brands because the comp. tech guy said they've gotten complacent in the fact that they are the leading brand of internet security out there. It attacks files and bugs the old-fashioned way and now the scammers and bad guys are wising up to that fact and coming out with new viruses which can slip past it's protection.

I found this virus scanner the other day it Microsoft Security Essentials it cuaght some tojans i didn't know I had.

I went to the link out of curiousity and my Norton Security package put up a warning:
"Malicious website"

That's funny......its a download site of .iso image for Trinity....

I just checked in on unmasked parasites and Google Safe Browsing, no sign of a current issue....

Maybe Norton is a little jealous....I'd be curious if you could post a screen shot....

I have found Avira to be excellent, and IMHO better than AVG. When I installed Avira it found 4 or 5 files that it had problems with that AVG "missed" or thought were OK.

I've had the exact same experience. I've now uninstalled AVG, sticking with Avira alone.

I'm not sure the combofix URL listed above is correct.
There's a lot of web sites that have tainted combofix links. Therefore, it's not recommended to find combofix through a random search engine link.

I just tried this, my AVG called it a threat and I removed it then accordingly. so what's the deal?
