She is all New Age stuff. She believes that everyone is God...including herself being equal.

Won't waste my time ever watching her.

I can't stomach her show or her for that matter. I tried to watch a little bit of her show but could not handle it. My heart goes out for her and the people who hang on her ever word.
They seem so lost to the true Word of God.

It is a false doctrine, a false teaching... but can we honestly be judging the person right here, right now?

2 Timothy 4:1-4 speaks about people desiring after a false doctrine--turning away from the truth and speak of them as if they were fairy tales. Where does this say that we judge the person, not the message? I don't see it.
Oprah is spreading a false message and therefore needs scriptural rebuking, for her own good as well as for the good of those countless followers who are believing the lie. She is very deceived and definitely needs prayer.

We are to judge righteously; rightly dividing the Word. Bringing false doctrine into the light and exposing it for the lie it is- is judging properly according to scripture.

Exactly Lainy68's point...you know I leaned something from one of the mods in the Apostasy forum....they were discussing Billy Graham. One of our members was so upset and was gently corrected that Billy's Graham message was wrong but the man himself was obviously still loved....I believe that is the main point that needs to be made....the message needs to be attacked, the person can still be loved and definitely prayed for. Do not judge that person...only God will judge the person's heart. we may righteously judge the works and the message but not the intent....

Judge righteously--bring false doctrine into the light and expose it--judging THAT according to scripture. You can name the names of the people who preaches it, but to hurl insults and defame... that is not judging righteously. We can say that they are heading towards a certain direction eternally if they continue in a certain path, but we cannot condemn them because there is always hope in Jesus Christ. Instead, pray.

So we agree that Oprah is a false teacher who is teaching New Age lies, GOOD. Okay, then the thread is not completely derailed by all this PC concern for someone who is teaching the occult. Do we need to launch Scriptures at one another accusing one another of unrighteous judgments, just because Oprah is a false teacher?

From where I stand, it seems that all posters in this thread were trying to say is that Oprah has gone New Age and is leading others astray, and being different people they just expressed themselves in different ways. Most posters are simply saying that Oprah stopped being a talk show host years ago, and has appointed herself a spiritual leader.

Oprah, on the other hand, has led who knows HOW many innocent followers to New Age lies that will lead them to hell. Oprah's NEW AGE DECEPTION does need to be exposed, herself along with her beliefs. She has chosen to be a false teacher.
Jesus answered, I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. (John 14:6 NIV)

WE make judgement calls everyday, but the kind of Judgement that damns a person and such are much different in recognizing what is true or false or judging the fruits of someone. I think we have to judge by a person's lifestyle and by their own words. If you put Oprah up against God's Word, is she guilty, is she a sinner? Like many pastors, they start out right, but many get caught up in other things and fall away. Is Oprah a person you or I can use to represent us? Is she someone you or I should be associated with? From what she says and puts out to the world, she's of the world and not someone I'd want to be associated with really, not that I wouldn't pray for her nor can I judge her heart, but her actions speak loudly, she's her own person and money is her God, she's not accept Christ from what I understand and says there is many ways to find God. No, if I had a daughter, I would not want her to be a woman like her, she doesn't represent, in my judgment, a person of true Christian values...( Yes, she's accompish much in her life, she's went thru hell in her life, but who takes the credit or who does she give it to, in respect to our God who desires much from us...)

I can't stomach Oprah's show much these days because of her New Age hocus pocus. The only time I care to tune is in the occassional show that features Dr. Oz.

Oprah tackles new issue: 'Gay is a gift from God'
Pastor claims Almighty made all people, saying, 'You are good' – no exceptions

    By Drew Zahn

On the third day of her televised "Best Life" week-long series, even Oprah Winfrey was stunned to hear one of her pastor panelists, Rev. Ed Bacon, declare, "Being gay is a gift from God."

With wide eyes, Winfrey responded, "Well, you are the first minister I've ever heard say, 'Being gay is a gift from God,' I can tell you that."

The comment was made earlier this month on the "Your Spiritual Journey" segment of Winfrey's "Best Life Week" by Rev. Bacon of the All Saints Episcopal Church in Pasadena, Calif., a church described by Pasadena Weekly as "one of the most socially progressive religious institutions in America."

The comment was so controversial that Winfrey invited Bacon back four days later via video link to explain himself.

"Tell us, what did you mean by that comment?" Winfrey asked.

"I meant exactly what I said," Bacon responded with a wide smile. "It is so important for every human being to understand that he or she is a gift from God, and particularly people who are marginalized and victimized in our culture. Gay and lesbian people are clearly outcasts in many areas of our life, and it is so important for them to understand that when God made them, God said, 'You are good.'"

Well the gays are pretty well covered, the pedophiles are working on it, and it won't be long until rapists and murderers are Gods special creatures too. Then we can empty our prisons and insane assylums since we are all Gods perfect creatures just as he made us.

What a crock of you know what. Didn't any of those people read the bible at all, even a little bit???

Oh, this is just too precious.

Let's see. Did I miss one of the Nine Gifts of the Holy Spirit in 1 Corinthians 12? Whaddya know, I only have an NIV. My Bible needs updating. Out with the old, in with the NEW!

Why don't I have the gift? Now God is a racist or something...

Honestly?! Oprah is delusional and v. lost. We need to pray for her, but...I just can't stomach her spews of veiled "wisdom" these days. I saw a YouTube video of her once denying Christ as the only way to Heaven. It's a spiritual ignorance!

She said something about attending a Baptist church (I think) and how she was "feeling all good" while the pastor "crescendo'd" his sermon. Then, she said, "he said, AND OUR GOD IS A JEALOUS GOD, and all of a sudden, something didn't 'click' in my spirit. I thought, GOD IS JEALOUS OF ME? I can't serve that." (This is just a recollection of what I remember her saying. Not verbatim).

Anyway, where would she get the idea that God is jealous OF His creation? He owns the universe - He doesn't need to be jealous of you. It means that He's jealous FOR you. You know, meaning NOT ANY GODS BEFORE ME. Like self.

Sorry. But this woman angers me. And so many in the church find her opinions valid.

    Back on topic!

Oprah is such a great tool for Satan.
I pray she finds Jesus before it's too late.. She'll have a lot to answer for..

This is how Oprah lost her faith, a show sometime ago.

    I don't know her god.

Maybe it's the same one as that gay Episcopal bishop - the god of our many understandings.

Or let's just call him by his real name - Satan the deceiver!

Well, then all diseases are a "gift" from God....cancer, diabetes, genetic defects. I true homosexual was born with an abnormal endocrine system....a person with epilepsy can be born with a genetic abnormality for that disease. These are in no way "gifts" from God.

She is so lost, i dont think she can get lost any further. A gift from God, well than anything can be a gift from God, just like Mirriam33 mentioned. Twisting cutting and slicing the bible only to justify their perversive lifestyle will not change Gods mind on that judgement day . Gods Word is Just and True, and noone can alter it. These people will get what they deserve for rejecting the truth which can only be found in Jesus, we can only pray they come to the light and stop rejecting HIM before it's too late.
