Default How Jesus could have looked

I found an interesting site that has a collection of ancient writings by people who have allegedly seen Jesus in real life. Very interesting read:

    http://www.thenazareneway.com/likene...ur_saviour.htm

Out of curiosity, I started messing with pictures of the Shroud of Turin. In particular the recent finding of the second face image on the back of the shroud.

I superimposed the well known front picture with the new back one, on top of each other, using photo manipulation software, added some contrast, noise reduction and a little blur and came up with this.

Sit a few feet from the monitor to see it better. It made the hair on my neck stand up!

Just for comparison, here is the original one that everyone is familiar with:

Even though I have never seen Jesus, I'm certain I will recognize him when I get to see Him. It is interesting reading the link. Some described Him with golden hair, others with reddish hair and still others with dark hair. I suspect He looked like a Jew born in Israel in the First Century. Olive skin and dark hair. The blue or gray eyes were interesting, though. It is fun to speculate, but of course it really doesn't matter what He looked like. I have read where some of the early church leaders said He appeared differently to different people. That would explain the differences in the descriptions of Him. Once again, I have no idea what He looked like, but I will know Him when I see Him. That is the day I am looking forward to.

Might explain why some disciples did not recognize Him after the Resurection. Will we look different to different people too? Although everyone will know us just by looking, like the disciples knew Moses and Elijah on the Transfiguration Mount.

"Brothers, we do not yet know what we shall be, but that when He appears, we shall be like Him." I John, Quoting from memory here.

Of course the only eyewitness description we have of Jesus is the one John gave in Revelation. I think that if we saw Him like that, we would surely recognize Him.

    Isaiah 53:2

He grew up before him like a tender shoot,
and like a root out of dry ground.
He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him,
nothing in his appearance that we should desire him.

Amazing what humility, God chose to come to earth as a man and he did not come as a handsome beauty instead he came with no beauty at all , plain looking or ugly I do not know ... but thats the King of Kings right there - turns the world on its head..

    Shroud Of Turin

I was watching a movie tonight and there were pro and cons about the Shroud Of Turin and I am so confused about whether this is true or false.

I think it might be the real deal.

    maybe.

It is pretty wild, how they can make it into a 3D picture.

    another mystery.

I am unsure as well...it's quite an interesting thing. Some people argue that it's fake based on the Bible verses that say there were two pieces of cloth. However, I've read webpages that claim there is a second cloth that Jesus' head was wrapped in, and that either the Catholics have that now, or they used to have possession of it and now its missing. I dunno.

Rose, you would enjoy the book "The Resurrection of the Shroud" by Mark Antonacci (he's an attorney - if you can't convince an attorney, who can you convince? ). Click to see the book on Amazon.com.

I have always thought it a fake for 2 reasons. The first is the scripture that mentions Christ was wrapped and buried in strips of cloth and the second is that Christ said that no signs would be given other than His death and resurrection. So I take Him at His word.
